I want to learn about the practice, but don't know where to start.
I want to learn about the practice, but don't know where to start.
My advice is to Read, Read, Read. There are a ton of books out there. I am not Wiccan, but am studying Egyptian paganism and I read everything I can get my hands on.
I don't feel myself today
Just a figure in a big monopoly game
Struggle is the price you pay
You get just enough just to give it away
I'm sinking but I'm floating away
Throw me a line so I can anchor my pain
The fabric is about to fray

Any Wiccans Here?

As for books:
Other info:
I'm Pagan, used to be Wiccan when I was a teenager.
There's a TON of information out there, so I guess I'm surprised you don't know where to start looking. Google it? Go to the library? Bookstore? Seriously, go to Amazon and look up witchcraft, there are thousands of sources out there and any one of them will give you more information than we could simply by giving you generic links that you could find yourself in 10 seconds.

More importantly, go to a book store (B&N) or any other major retailer and peruse their new-age/wicca/occult/metaphysics/paganism/alternative-religion/spirituality section. <<< I have seen all of these titles, I dunno what they call it at your local store.
Look through any book that catches your eye. There is no right and wrong. Nothing is as personal as spirituality. See if anything clicks for you.
It's all about what feels right for YOU and YOU alone.
If you have a new age boutique or bookstore in your town I highly suggest checking it out. Not because anything there is more "authentic" but they have lots of obscure titles and self-published books, helpful staff, and neat stuff in general. They tend to be pretty friendly.

A word of caution, this is not a game. Read all you can. Especially the beginners books. Make very sure you know what you're getting into and make very sure you pick a line in which you're comfortable. Like all religions, there are various paths and traditions.
Sorry I missed church. I was too busy practicing witchcraft and becoming a lesbian.

I'm shamanistic/pagan/wiccan. Or a witch with heavy influence of Iroquois native american shamanism. Silver Ravenwolf has some good beginner type books. But really read. Witchvox can help you find groups that are out there, if you're interested in that.![]()

I come from a family tradition of 'Green' witchcraft ... see and .
As has already been alluded to by others, and in my own opinion as well, modern Wicca has received a great deal of publicity. This publicity has tended to overemphasize the 'ritual' aspects, but underemphasize the fundamentals.
