Default Will calf piercings get in the way?

I was thinking about getting corset piercings on my calves, but I know that part of the leg gets used a lot in pole dancing. Do you think they will get pulled on or ripped out? Does anyone have calf piercings? Do you think they would effect my ability to hold onto the pole? Also, do customers usually like piercings or not? leg-corset-piercings-13296394-293-423.jpgScreen shot 2012-03-03 at 12.50.38 AM.png

Completely impractical. Sorry. Most corset piercings are done at conventions for looks only and then removed.
Piercings in the club get mixed reactions. Depends on personal preference.

I had a lot of piercings when I first started dancing..less then a month into dancing I took most of them out. Not practical for stage (almost ripped a nipple ring out when it got caught on my thigh highs while doing a stage set!) and most older customers with $ to spend didn't like them. Sure a lot of young guys thought they were cool, but guess what those guys weren't spending a dime. So I realized pretty quick that I would make more without lots of piercings. Keep in mind I have a more "girl next door" look too, so maybe lots of piercings would work better for a more punk/goth looking girl?

Yes they will. On top of having to literally fight people off from pulling on them. Pole could mean tearing too. I wouldn't risk it.

These would most definitely get in the way of dancing, and would probably freak a lot of guys out. However, the club is not exactly a place for ANY piercings to heal, really. Tons of bacteria from money, other girls, guys' disgusting paws trying to touch you.... just not a good idea in my opinion.

You're also going to be taking your clothes off every couple of minutes and I can see them being caught in the piercings. That would be annoying & time consuming. Just doesn't seem safe at all.

i've never seen anyone with corset piercings in real life. for modeling and for show purposes, sure. but to have in day in and day out seems hazardous.

bad idea. I think pierced ears/belly is cute on just about everyone. Beyond that I do think it drives away some customers.

    Terrible idea.

I have no idea how long it takes for this kind of piercing to heal. AND!!! You're really talking about 10-16 holes per leg.

Please consider INFECTION: whether it be from clothing, customers, poles, sweat, etc. you're exposing 20-32 openings in your body to germs of all sorts.

If you're a pole performer you are essentially 'effing yourself. You're limiting your grip, your hold, and your ability to do certain moves.

Some customers may like the novelty...... but no-one likes an inflamed, oozing pain-zone on a dancers leg.

You'd end up spending money on this procedure and then lose exponentially more money on healing time, on lackluster performances, on possible complications, on torn outfits, and on customers that may be turned off.

    Not cute. Don't do it.

Thanks for all your comments! I'm not currently performing (do it because I love dance and it's fun), but I have thought of performing in the future. I was thinking about getting them for a summer thing but I don't want them to limit what I can do on the pole. Or get ripped out. So I probly wont get them now. lol

Thanks for your advice, you ladies are the best.

Calf piercings are play piercings... Meaning that because of their location, there isn't a piercer i know who whould do this. They're are usually done for conventions and shows only. Don't let anyone do these to you, especially if you plan on leaving them in. They will get infected, and it is very likely they will get ripped out.

As has been pointed out, any type of corset piercing is a PLAY piercing. What that means is, pain junkies have these done at conventions and mod gatherings so they can lace them up, take photos, then remove them in an hour or two.

All surface piercings have a SUPER high rejection rate, much more so than your run of the mill through-and-through like an ear or belly. The loops used for corset piercings are pretty much guaranteed to reject if you don't remove them after a few hours. A more realistic option for surface piercings are bars (which don't really work for corsetting) or micro/dermal anchors. I personally plan to have a series of microdermals along my sternum, and two rows of the hardier dermal anchors down my back. The anchors on my back will give me the option of doing a "corset" look for special occasions, but only rarely, after they are FULLY healed, and without the ability to actually "lace" it. 99.9% of the time, I would have to wear other jewelry heads, like gems or skin toned concealor disks. That's about as close as you can possibly get to a long-term wear corset. If you want solely the corset look, you're out of luck and trying with piercings will just be a waste of time.

I don't think I need to comment on the way it can screw with dancing, since the piercing itself isn't even realistic.

If you really want that corset look and this is something you want to add to your body permanently, why not consider having it tattooed on? It's something I've been considering since I like the corsetted leg look, but I'm not sure how that would fit in my overall mod scheme. When you balance the pros and cons, having it tattooed won't interfere with your ability to dance (even though they can interfere with money), won't snag and rip, won't come loose, far less likely to reject, less healing time. They only con I see is being stuck with one color ribbon!
Exotic dancing is like any other job.
If you work in an office, you wear dress shoes and a suit.
If you work in a restaraunt, you wear skid resistant shoes and a uniform.
If you work in a strip club, you wear 7" stilettos and lycra g-strings.

If wouldnt advise it, especially not with dancing. The chances of infection, them getting ripped out and the pain of it (for me) wouldnt be worth it.

Corset piercings also grow out very very quickly, they are not designed to be permenant, when piercings are placed in unusual places where there are not supposed to be foreign objects (ie, close to the surface of the skin on flat parts of the body (back, arms, legs etc) the body starts to reject them almost immediately. I have seen a corset piercing on a back which had grown out, it looked horrible, the girl had about 12 raised scars all over her back. On the calf, you are pretty much guarenteed that it will not last and you will end up with scars, and thats without any of them ripping out etc.

I agree with all the comments above. I looked at the pictures and yes they are beautiful but ooh the pain of possibly getting those ripped out. Some asshole customer coming along to do it just because? Could you imagine someone pulling on one of the strings to get your attention? Bad idea 100%.
