    i used to live on a narrowboat but quite like these widebeams, i'm thinking of buying one(must convince my husband first), would you live on one of these if you had the chance?i would park in in a marina.

    Hell yes I would. In a heartbeat! The ability to go anywhere anytime?! I'd LOVE it.

    you can go anywhere but it takes ages!my husband is chinese and he just doesn't get it, i nearly bought one last april without telling him!

    another plus is the people in these marinas are so relaxed, alot of old hippies and free spirits.

    Beautiful and I would like to live in it myself. Wouldn't be seaworthy and would capsize immediately. What is the future on the canal itself? If the canal is being filled in then, lovely as it is I would have to pass.

    Now a converted bus, that would be great fun!

    they are actually restoring alot of canals and you can also use them on rivers of course, its just a very hippy way of living for thousands of people,these are seaworthy in the right conditions, people have used canal boats to go over from calais to dover and many have done it as a way to raise money for charity, i wouldn't see the point of trying to use them on the sea though. when i am older i will move to holland to live on one of thee defo!
