Long story short: I applied at a club recently to be a cashier/hostess/doorgirl. I got an interview and it went very well, the club called me back the next day and said I was hired, and wanted to hire me as a COCKTAIL SERVER. I told the hiring manager I have absolutely no experience but in the interview I expressed intrest in becoming a cocktail server in the future, BUT they offered me the opportunity right away!!!
I have absolutely NO experience with serving in a stripclub or even restraunt. It will be a good learning experience for me but of course I am a bit anxious....I have not worked in a stripclub in years (hence wanting to start slow as a hostess) I have been a dancer years ago, and truly have no desire to get back into it. I wanted to get my foot in the door cocktail serving, and the opportunity came knocking sooner then expected. I thought the SC would be a good way for me to re-assimilate to a routine working environment from camming, and I am sure this will be more flexible then jumping straight back into working corporate, stiff jobs. In the future, I'd love to take cocktail serving to the next level and work in the casino/nightlife/daylife industries here.
I know there will be alot of temptation and drama working in this environment, but if I don't like it I can take the experience and move on. I really am blessed, in this economy, to be hired for a position that I have NO EXPERIENCE for that has good earning potential. I am not expecting to make dancer money but the money is better then working a retail job.
SOOO I am trying to learn how I can respond to certain situations that WILL arise working as a cocktail server in a stripclub. For example, I know on a nightly basis, I will be asked:
-Why don't you dance?
-Can I get a dance from you?
-What are you doing after work?
-Can I get you a drink tonight? I DO NOT drink so I will have to find some good ways around this one)
-I have (insert asinine amount of money here) for a dance, blah blah blah....
-Compliment tippers (your sooo hot/sexy/blah/blah/blah) in other words "I am cheap but I want to try and distract you from my measly tip or lack thereof with compliments.
And who knows what else, NO experience here whatsoever, just thinking ahead so I can get my cocktail hustle down
My goal is to have some quick comebacks, that make them laugh, while providing good service, so they still want to TIP. I know that I will deal with alot of bullshit on a nightly basis, but I must respond to this in a witty/comical way to keep those tips coming, I can't just walk away like a dancer, etc!
I want to give this a fair shot, I am crazy enough that I just may enjoy it, but of course am nervous due to my lack of experience. TY cocktail serving sistahs for your advice!!
