Default How to achieve this hair style

Anyone know how I'd go about imitating this hairstyle??
I tried crimping, and it just didn't look the same. Tried braids, then letting them loose, and it had that little crimp/bump at the end...and still didn't look the same.
Is this something I could achieve myself??
Thanks for any tips! I just really love this look.

Did you use product when you breaided it? Thats really strange that didn't work out because I promise you it should be a simple style. You may just need to practice with the crimper till you achieve the style because I really can't think of another method other than the two you gave.

This is gonna be really hard to explain, but here it goes..

Dry your hair like normal. Then take a small curling iron. Start at the roots and work your way down small sections of hair. Clamp the curling iron around your hair, like you would a crimper. Once your hair has taken that shape, turn the curling iron so the wave is in the other direction. Then just keep going back and forth down you hair until it creates a wave. In the picture you posted, it looks like a very small iron was used.

Hope that makes sense. That is how I get that style, but every hair type seems to style differently.

It looks like what happens to me when I fail at curling my hair... I didn't know that was a style...

Maybe try a waver instead http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opDRc...eature=related
To get the waves more loose like your pic you can either use thicker amounts of hair or a lower temperature.

^^ Yup, triple barrel waver. Just don't squash it down hard.

Well I don't like to use my crimper because it pulls my hair and I hate it! but this video:
It took me a while to figure out how to braid my own hair that way but once you do you never forget (:

Use a little product in your hair when braiding and the style will last longer through the day. Hope I could help!

Try this: braid the hair but instead of tying an elastic at the end, hold it with your hands and run your flat iron slowly over it. Let the braid cool before shaking it loose.

Avery, I know that synthetic hair (weaves) that are straight when purchased become wavy like the hair pictured once they've been washed. That is honestly what it looks like to me and actually pretty simple!

Try using a styling cream first then braid your hair in loose sections. Tighter braids will result in a wavier look. Leave it in over night or for a couple hours. You may need to experiment with the length of time. When you let the braids loose, take each strand and unwrap it slowly. Don't just take the braid apart, as this will result in it becoming pouffy. Apply a little more styling cream and voila!

I comb my hair in the shower but not after. I finger comb when it's dry. If I do that my hair is a lot wavier than if I comb or brush it while wet.

Put in gel/heat protectant of choice
    Crimp with 3 barrel waver
Sleep on it over night, DO NOT BRUSH
    Flattened crimps...

If you dont want to sleep on it... when you are done crimping lightly mist your hair with water, mess it up bed head style n go

    The Flickdreams method for achieving the hair you want;

    Step 1) Go to Hairdresser
    Step 2) Pay Hairdresser
    Step 3) Repeat as needed

But seriously, go once and watch how she does it.

If you're talking about the texture I suggest putting loose braids into wet hair (the braids should be around the size of your finger). They should NOT be too tight so that the bends (the crimps whatever) aren't too close together. See this example: http://thewrighthair.blogspot.com/20...hout-heat.html
Allow the braids to dry-- you can sleep in them over night--- or braid your hair in the morning and let them air dry so that you're all set for the evening.

When your hair is dry, unbraid but do not brush. Instead moisten your hands and comb your hands through your hair.. you can tug on the ends of the hair slightly if it's too crimped in some areas.... the moisture of your hands will allow the crimp to stretch out--- this will make the crimp less severe. When you're almost at the level of crimping you want put on a nice serum (like friz eaze) on any fly-away strands.

As time goes on the crimps will loosen. If they don't loosen to your liking, moisten your hands with water again and run your fingers through the hair and tug on the ends of the strands as I mentioned previously. Allow your hair to dry a bit before you mess with it any further.

Try not to brush your hair as brushing can very easily result in this look: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_ziLO4q746x...rberry-hat.jpg

If you're talking about getting that color I suggest tinting your hair (if you're very blonde already) with some semi-permanent color like Special FX cupcake pink: http://www.amphigory.com/se_cupcake_pink.html

If your hair isn't super light blonde then I would suggest a wig rather than damaging your actual hair with bleach.
