He's gotta go home to water and feed his kitty. Clearly, I'm wildly judgement, sexist and mean. Also perpetually single...
You are certainly entitled to your own opinion, and no one can tell you that you are wrong for having the dating preferences that you do. Certain people like blondes, brunettes, short, tall, cat people, dog people, no animal people, etc...However, I would like to point out that the reason lots of people have cats is because they are so low maintenance. They do not require daily walks to do their business and get exercise like dogs. You can definitely leave a cat alone over a weekend and have it be fine, just leave out extra dry food and water. Some people even have automatic feeders and fountains.

Idk if this happened when you were in Key West, but I gotta tell you, reading this I imagined you crawling up one of the huge-ass trees in front of the court house on Whitehead St! Maybe it's b/c my mates have had to pull me down from those very same trees once or twice when I was stone drunk -- I don't remember trying to rescue any cats altho I'm told I once went up after a raccoon. 'membered or not, hells yeah it's great fun.

No it's not weird... One of my good friends was single with a cat that he adored. The cat only liked him and hated strangers, so they def had a bond. But being a cat person fit him, he's a very intellectual, mellow, chill at home dude. I think if someone is completely "cat only" or "dog only" it's an indicator of personality.

Nah it was way back in my Chicago days, a huge old (oak?) tree. The trunk was way too thick to grab, and there weren't any branches that could be reached from the trunk area. So I jumped up & grabbed hold of the leaves hanging down round the outside & pulled myself up the hanging branches that way, got the kitten and dropped it into the girl's scarf. God only knows how I got down, some reverse method, I forget.

I haven't climbed anything much down here yet.

    A stud like you?! Naaaaaaw!

You could always climb one of the cemetery trees, 'rescue' a chicken & walk around advertising yourself as a single guy w/ a cock. Certainly the double-entendre would appeal to any heterosexual animal lover w/ an appreciation for dirty puns. Fringe benefit: not being seen as The Crazy Cat Dude ppl like the OP's friend are so desperate to avoid.

Well there is a big canopy structure very close to where I work that is tempting, but I'd rather not get fired or arrested. Canopy structures are easy to get up into, I was up the one on my first club and all over the roof within the first couple weeks. They said you could hear me up there inside the club, even though it was a huge industrial/restaurant building.

I got into climbing shit in Chicago, where the buildings were much more interesting and challenging than the trees. Actually the buildings were often easy as hell to climb as much of the campus architecture was neo Gothic with all that sculptural shit and you could go right up it if you knew what you were doing.

Jesus what is up with my threadjacking today? Sorry everyone...let's get back to the guys with cats thing.

Much as I am vehement in my defense of loving the kitties, I did recently see a picture some guy made for FB or maybe a Xmas card with his cat that looked gay as hell. But it wasn't the cat at all--if anything the cat looked vaguely uncomfortable--it was totally the guy's attitude, written all over his face and posture. The minute I saw it I thought of this whole thread and I understood the concept risen by the OP's friend. I think I saved it somewhere, but I won't post it as it would be violating the privacy of whoever this geek was.

No longer single but after graduating college, shared my various living spaces with multiple cats. The occasional girl at work would say things like "oh you're a cat guy? that's so sad" but generally it's never bothered me. If anything, I am a firm believer in "Hey I like you and want to take you home to meet my cats so you can get their approval".
