Default Random Third Job Question (:

I plan on auditioning for a club in about a week and just recently ran into a problem. Right now I have two jobs; one retail and one at a coffee shop. I love my job at the coffee shop the hours weren't enough though so I continued my job at the retail store. I work mostly 'nights' 1-9:30 at the coffee shop. I feel like continueing a job with the coffee shop while stripping will end badly ( old co-worker was fired for doing so) where as my job at the retail store is awful (boring as fuck) they are extremely flexible alow nails and I feel would be a lot more understanding with the new job. I want to keep one job till I get my feet on the ground with stripping, but not sure which one to choose?

I want to say I would go with the more practical one, which sounds like retail, so you can actually hold down it and stripping at the same time without getting stressed. I say this as I had a dayjob earlier this year which finished quite late and required a minimum number of days that meant I had to double-shift with stripping one day. If the hours were earlier or shorter it might have been ok but i found it too much practically to do both.

A bonus though was that while i found the dayjob quite tedious and tiring (was on my feet all day with no leeway for taking it easy), it made me appreciate stripping- being comfortable, having fun most of the time and the money. Similarly dancing made me appreciate the dayjob, which wasn't that fun, but i was guaranteed wages. So you may be able to stay sane while keeping the retail job this way.

However I have always made decisions to enjoy life, so it might be worth risking it with the coffee shop as you enjoy it- it would be a shame to give that up if you try dancing and don't really take to it. It seems weird that they would fire someone over stripping though- was it the dancing or just the fact she had another job and it affected her committment to the shop?

Thinking about it now I would be willing to commit to another job even if it clashed a bit with dancing, if the dayjob was something i enjoyed. Only you know how likely it is you'll have problems with the coffee shop though, and whether the money will be enough (bear in mind it may take a while to get the hang of dancing and make good money).

    Hope that helps!

Damn, you're a busy girl! You may not be keen on this advice, but I think it'd be wisest for you to keep both jobs until you've danced a couple of times. Even if you can only do it once a week or so, that's better than finding out that stripping isn't right for you but not having your second job to fall back on.

    This^^^

You never know, you might do a few shifts and hate dancing. Keep all of your jobs until you are certain you can make enough money to drop one of the others. Even if the coffee shop is more preferable, i personally would lose that one, if they have been known to fire girls for moonlighting as strippers in the past and they found out you did too, chances are your fate would be the same, and you dont want to have given up the retail job and have to rely solely on dancing if it isnt entirely what you want to be doing.

I have two jobs, retail and dancing, the retail shifts are boring and tedious, but the money is regular and steady and keeps me afloat, while the dancing tops me up, even though i earn considerably more dancing (i do more hours and is technically my main source of income) i wouldnt like to stop my shop job as dancing can be so hit and miss. And unless you can do six nights a week of grafting (which i cant) its better to have something to always fall back on (especially as a new dancer) for the things you know will come out of your bank account like rent and bills.
