    Default Newbie around here

Hi guys! I've been reading this forum for a few days now.

I'm really close to becoming a cam girl. I've done a few times 2 years ago on LJ, but didn't stick to it. After discovering Stripperweb I already registered on Streamate.

Do you think it's a good starting place? I'm thinking about registering on MFC and AW too. I wanted to ask if you use the same name on all websites you're on, or if you have a different name for each.

My goal right now is making 2000$/month, working about 5h/day, 5 days a week. Can I do it on my first month? I know it sounds really low for you, but I quit my job where I was making around 750$/month.

I'd also like to ask what's the best time to work. Night, day? What are the best hours (I'm on Western European Time)?

I'm very happy to have found this, it's a great support group and I hope I can become an active member!

    Welcome to the forums.

SM (Streamate) is a great place to start for newbies.

$2k should be quite easy if your computer/webcam are decent, lighting is good and you put the hours in.

The best times are unique, you'll have to find them out yourself. Although if your west eu remember SM is mainly for the US so check a time convertor for there daylight hours.

Thank you both for your answers.

PrincessJenny so you'd say day time is best in the US? I'll have some tries at different times so I can find out what works for me.

I have a nice webcam, not the best but for now it'll do (Logitech C310). I also have two not-so-great lamps that I bought when I was on LJ, not the best but not the worst either.

    Thanks a lot!

welcome to stripperweb! you might also want to check out cams.com. personally i find sm and cams.com to be the most reliable sites in terms of making money (mfc and aw are really hit or miss for a lot of girls, but definitely worth trying). best of luck!

You could most likely make more then $2000 a month working 5 hours a day / 5 days a week to be honest. But if you wanna pocket $2000.00 after you calculate Taxes..then okay thats about right, if not ur looking at like $1700 a month if you make $2000 from ur camming site.

    Welcome.

Good luck finding anyone that will tell you the best days, times, hours, etc. to work.

    And good luck in camming!
    xoxo ~ Sarah

Hi there, Streamate is a great place for newbies (in my biased opinion ). Just a little tip: if you're camming on Streamate, you will want to be sure that your Internet connection is solid, that you are using an audio feature, and that you are streaming in HD using the HD Encoder... along with your customer feedback from your paid shows (and your dazzling personlity ), those things will play a big determining factor in how much money you will ultimately pull in each week. I think your goal is very reasonable so long as you are willing to put forth the effort. Oh, and like PrincessJenny said, a lot of customers on Streamate are based out of the US- so if you are in Western Europe, you can try to sync your online time with whatever US times that you'd like to work. Best of luck!

Thanks so much for all your help! My upload speed (according to Speedtest) is about 3.66mbps, so I think I'll be fine with that.

Thank you all for all the tips, I had given up camming 2 years ago but it was always something on my mind, every month I wondered how much I could be making if I did it. Right now I know so much more about camming, I'm ready to do it again.

I feel much better now knowing that there's a place where I can talk about it!

Try all sites til you find which one(s) you like.

Try all times til you find which one(s) you like.

Save 30% for taxes. So add 30% on to whatever your goal is.

Invest in a good computer, cam, equipment, and fast internet.

Work a lot of hours, its not easy.

Welcome! I cam part time and let me tell you, it's not easy. Just like with anything in life, if you want it bad enough, then you can make it happen. $2000 a month is not hard to achieve. Hell, you may be able to make that in two weeks.
