My mother's vision started to get bad around the time I was 12 so I took over as the regalia maker of the family(traditionally the grandmother is the regalia maker, but she passed away when I was really young)...and I have to admit, I'm was really good at it. I used to make my brother's southern straight and grass dance regalia and everything from fancy, jingle(pretty damn complicated to make, imho)and traditional cloth dresses with their damn teeny weeny geometric designs(i.e. picture 3)

Of course, I'm on the other side the planet atm, and its been almost 4 years since i've made anything, but I've been itching to get back into it lately! I was also(maybe I suck at it now, who knows? lol) decent at beadword and did all of the bedwork for our moccassins, leggings, yokes and belts/sashes (picture 4 of the website)
Working with metal must be so hard! That would be awesome if you opened up your own shop someday!
