Default Goin' Natural - Afros Allowed?

Hi, this is for any african or black strippers

I decided to go natural. I understand that I can wear wigs, but has anyone ever stripped with her full on afro? Or some other style that is obviously not straight and not "bouncy curly" (like a blow out or a twist out)? I know this sounds really bad, but I am aware that looking... BLACK (meaning *gasp* I wear the hair God gave me, no colored contacts, etc)... is not generally accepted in this industry unless it is a niche.

But outside of that, totally happy to go natural!

I have natural hair too, but I wear long, straight weave to work. I figured it was my best shot if I wanted to appeal to everyone. I was having a conversation with my manager about hair (idk how this came up in the SC), and I mentioned to him that my hair is a giant fro. He pretty much full on demanded that I wear it in the club! I gave it some thought, and I really think I could pull it off......... BUT

I don't want guys' nasty hands in my hair. Whenever I wear my hair out in public, a stranger touches it. And I hate it. I'm sure you can relate. Do you really want a bunch of guy's nasty hands in your hair?

I think you should go for it afros and beautiful! and I know people touch others hair especially when they find it really beautiful or different from there own but that would piss me off, always ask to touch anything that's on some one else's body! ugh

Wow, that's really cool. but LOL I did not even consider that people will be touching my hair. That's a really good point, lol.

I have noticed that alot of my white friends see me after a shower and are constantly telling me that my natural texture us so cute. But there female, guys I have dated and guys I have dancced for have told me flat out they like it curly but don't like it in that frizzy poofy state. I would definatly do what I want regardless but me personally ( and seems like a universal sexy rule) that if you can't run your hands threw it its not sexy.

^I half agree with you, but there are exceptions to every rule... including the occassional girl that can pull of rocking a fro in the club. If I was ugly, I'd probably be convinced that it would never work for me in the club. But I, for one, don't feel I necessarily have to adhere to the long light brown weave/colored contacts rule that black dancers seem to have established. That's just me, though.

i've been natural since december 07. i have worn my hair natural to the club, but as someone else said, i generally didn't wear my hair out, so i could appeal to everyone. i have never worn my hair straight, but always curly, or even kinky-curly (think mixed girls). i'm honestly not that big a fan of straight hair for ME.

when i wore my hair natural THAT'S how i wore it to the club, and i still made money, but everyone is different. some people may not like this look, and that's fine. but generally, i wore weaves and wigs because it was more convenient and gave me a different look.

this is how i wore my hair normally:

so, i'm a girl who DOES want to appeal to others to make money, but still keep some kind of texture
