Default I am having zero luck...

I've had some major issues with my windows 7 operated sony vaio. This morning I about broke into tears over the issues I was having. I was online about an hour or so and right after the time change it started acting all funky. I look at the encoder and my video is flashing because my keyboard is scrolling every which way really fast. Ok.. so first thing I do is run a scan to see if I have any viruses and/or malware. NOTHING I tried updating the drivers and rolling them back as well. Did not help either. The laptop just kept scrolling itself and at this point a bunch of the letters and numbers have stopped working. I tried doing a system restore and that made no difference and actually made it worse for a while. I would start up the laptop and once I got into my system profile no icons nor the start menu would show up just the mouse and the background color. Eventually I was able to start the laptop up and the icons came back but the issues with the scrolling and other buttons are still there. I haven't gotten anything in my keyboard and I'm just at my wits end with Windows operating systems in general. I'm working on paying some things down and after that I was planning on getting a mac. I guess my plans have shifted and I'm going to go to the apple store to check things out. I'm not the most computer savvy person in the world nor am I ignorant to them either. I was just wondering if a mac pro is needed for camming or would the macbook air be sufficient? Any other suggestions when it comes to macs is much appreciated. Sorry about the rant ladies just having a terrible morning.

I'm not really into computers, but I just formatted my C and reinstalled windows, cause my system got in some nasty viruses, they were freakenin bad, first my pc started to act strange but the anti virus simply did not detect anything, then they turned it totally off, and I was unable to turn it back on, and the pc did some more strange things and slowly the whole stuff kind of fell apart. When I saved some of my datas and transferred it on a pendrive to my other pc, the anti-virus immediately alarmed, and deleted some viruses I was transferring with the data. Still on the first pc the same anti-virus just did not detect them before. Now after the formatting and reinstalling it is fine again.

Imo Macs are great and everything but the are fkin overpriced if you want to use them simply for camming. A pc is just fine for camming and usual stuff.

Before I even got my first laptop about 2 years ago I was running a pc that my dad had made for me. It ran on Windows 98' It was a great computer and I never had any issues with the operating system. From the moment I upgraded I've had issues about once a month or so with different drivers on the laptop. I just want to have a computer that I know will be reliable and I won't be having constant issues with. My dad fixes computers for a living and cannot figure out what's going on with this thing. I've heard nothing but good things about macs.. Considering I paid around 900 for the laptop I have currently I don't mind shelling out a few hundred extra to have something that is high quality and will actually last. Not to mention it will save me a lot of stress and worrying about when something else will happen. Oh how I wish that I could still run on windows 98 lol So sad but it was soo much better.

If you have the money for it, choose the mac, have one high in the specs, (processor and memory)

I have had macs for years. Personally I would go with the macbook pro. The mac air doesn't come with enough ram and you can only upgrade the ram for $200+tax at the time of purchase. IMO $200 is too much for ram considering I took my mac to a regular computer shop and had then upgrade the ram for only $80 all in. And I think there is only 1 usb port on the mac air. BUT it does come with a thunderbolt port...which is awesome if you are using an analog camera that requires a converter box. The macbook air also does not have a CD/DVD drive or firewire port.

I have a macbook pro 13 inch model with i5 processor and 8 GB of ram. I bought it off someone on kijiji back in July and it still had lots of warranty on it, in fact it was purchased a week before I got it and the guy I bought it from gave me the receipt and details to register the warranty in my name. I paid $900 for it.

I have had to use the warranty three times since buying it. And boy am I glad it has warranty on it. Because it has needed over $900 in repairs in the past month. It was fine up until last month when things just started to fuck up. That said because it is under warranty I never had to pay for any of the repairs. But I have had to travel to the mac store which is about 45 min drive from my home. As well my macbook has been in the repair shop for more then 15 days total in the last month. It was working fine up until last month when a surge of power went through it and caused my electricity in my apartment to go out.

My last mac I had for 6 years and it has never had a problem. I only got a new one because I wanted a faster processor.

Over all I would highly recommend a mac. Their stores and service is exceptional, there is no check out so even if the store is busy you are usually in and out within a few minutes. They have many employees on the floor who are keen to approach you and when you are ready for check out they have a handheld terminal to process your payment. They don't use your typical line at the front cashier, its all done by the employee who assists you. The warranty is great, it goes by the serial number so even if you lose the receipt like I did your machine will still be covered at no cost if it needs repair.

As for your PC, did you try restoring it to a date in the past? You can do this by continuously pressing F8 I believe upon booting up.

This provides another method and shows some picture details.

I actually did do a system restore and at that point was when I couldn't even get my computer to boot up except for under safe mode. Every month or so something seems to be going wrong with the keyboard/mouse. I for the life of me can't figure it out. :/ I really don't mind shelling out the cash if I know that I will have a computer that won't let me down. My last option is to uninstall and then reinstall windows. Even if that does fix the issue I am just plain tired of not knowing when something is going to go wrong with the drivers. :/ In my household we have a bunch of laptops with only 2 of the 5 able to stream hd video. I'm gonna try out using my alternate for the mean time until I decide exactly what I want to get
