    Default Hiding flaws on cam

So, i heard pink lighting is great for hiding cellulite ( I will be looking into that tomorrow) but what about acne? ( Yes, I did use the search engine)

I am seeing a dermatologist, and have a follow up on the 21st (yay) but until then, my retin a is making me break out like a mother fucker. I am not used to much cystic acne,( I usually have white heads/ black heads, and the occasional cyst) and I never had a problem with it showing up on cam, and now it is, and it's making me horribly insecure, and not wanting to work. I use twice the amount of foundation on problem areas ( MUFE HD foundation). Any suggestions?

with a strong push toward HD, this is a growing problem for 'professionals' and 'amateurs' alike.

Yeah that is part of why I was a little nervous getting the new logitec HD./ Luckily, things were not as bad as I thought, and with bright enough light, my face looks almost flawless. I was pleasantly surprised.

Hopefully we can all learn some tips and tricks to getting around the HD exposure.

I notice that you can't see as much flaws on cam as you "think" you have besides I feel like the guys don't really notice the flaws like you do anyways I think in general the cellulite doesn't show as much on cam either... I am still trying to find the right make up also... I also get the cystic acne and am self conscious about it as well...

The logitech9000 makes me look pretty amazing. And I definitely have noticeable flaws in person, so yeah.

Good luck with your treatment, acne is a bitch to deal with. I got rid of mine using tazorac

I also use MUFE HD Foundation and I love how my face looks on cam. By the way, what flaws? There is none, lol.

If you covered as much as you could with makeup, there is only 1 thing u can do...play with the contrast setting . LESS contrast fades away almost all skin imperfections... LEss contrast and more brightness... try it...
No matter how " HD" the webcam is, it will have these functions.... play around with them .......

xD I was about to make the same suggestion, but thankfully I read to the end and caught your post. :p

Changing the "temperature" of your cam (some cams will have this setting) can also help reduce visible imperfections. Temp also going as tint under some manufacturers. You have to be subtle about it though, or you'll look like someone that's been playing with a Rod of Wonder.

Edit: I have to stop making obscure geek references on the board. I swear nobody ever gets them....

As someone who suffers from urticaria related from my anxiety. I use two big warm paper floor lamps and a umbrella light in front of me, this seems to even out my skin and disguise my redness when I am flare up. Also a very good foundation such as MAC or Dior and tons tons of bronzer lol

That's a great suggestion, though I am unsure of how to tinker with my cam settings as it is built into my mac and didn't seem to have much options. To google tonight! ( heading to bed in 15).

Yeah the skin issues were not as bad as I thought as soon as I turned a bright light on ( sounds counter intuitive but it's not!)

Has anyone else noticed that even when your make up is pretty smudged and sketchy, you still look like a babe? heh.

I love my foundation, i feel as though it is better than MAC. I Bought Mac NC20, and while i instantly felt as though it was my best match, I have dry skin from my retin A, and looked flakey, but I also broke out pretty badly after a few hours of testing it, the night before a party I was hosting. I have also heard complaints with acne with Mac foundation. However, I love everything else Mac.

Thanks to those who wished me luck with my skin issues, it is a bitch, and it has taken forever just to see a fucking Dermatologist. I am not hopeful.

The cam built into your mac will make you look awful compared to an external cam like one of the logitechs. I highly recommend getting a cam and not using the built in one.

I agree. I thought the non HD one would make me look better and OMG it added bags and lines where I didn't even know I had lines! lol. I use the Logitech 910 and it makes me look great. I actually use more contrast and medium light because it makes me look tan and flawless. Its different for everyone. Play around with it. The standard setting in my opinion suck! But definitely definitely get an HD cam!
