I was wondering if there are any tips to keeping your hair/ makeup / skin looking good all through your shift?
I tend to like my hair curled but it ends up looking all messed up or flat and if I brush it I lose the curls and just get poofy hair.

Few things I started doing when I started dancing:
Primers. Primer for your face (Smashbox and UD's are my fave). UD primer for eyeshadow.
Waterproof eyeliner and mascara.
For hair, if you like curls use hot rollers, they last much longer than using a curling iron or hair straightener.
Use a good hair spray. I personally recommend Big Sexy Hair. Its like cocaine for hair.
Drink lots of water throughout your shift (it helps me feel better and therefore look better).
Thank you for the help! I like that, cocaine for my hair haha perfect

I always spray my face with hairspray after I put my makeup on. It kind of sets the makeup and avoids it from slipping off or eye makeup from smudging. Once I forgot to do this before work and by the end of my shift I had panda eyes...
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

do you use product in yor hair after it has been washed? If your hair tends to not hold curl well using a mousse and gel will help hold the curl. I use Aveda Phomolliant stying foam and confixor gel. But I am sure any type will work well.

I don't work at a club, but as far as your makeup staying on all day, the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural is amazing. I couldn't live without it. Some girls use it as foundation, but I think it looks best when you wear it over foundation. It works as a setting powder, but also adds color. If your foundation starts to fade, just take a powder brush and sweep it all over you face, and it looks like an airbrush finish. I love it so much.
I usually just curl my hair and go I hate using product because i dont want it to look stiff or gunky but im going to have to so it will stay all night. It depends I know hair holds better when its not been washed for a day or two but then my hair falls flat faster, my hair is a pain the ass.
Yeah I have smash box photo finish and I never really saw a big difference, my skins pretty oily to, I usually just carry my oil obsorbtion sheets with me. Im going back on BC though so that should help with the oil. I have a whole shopping list for my soon to be dancing! lol

I wear wigs...honestly they are great. You can be someone else and they're pretty easy to maintain.

i used to do a 12 hour shift (fri and sat nights) so halfway through Id shower and redo my hair/makeup at work (usually around 11pm, right before it got busy)
Theres no sense crying over every mistake,
you just keep on trying till you run out of cake

After every stage set I swipe on some translucent face powder, wipe my body down with baby wipes, change my thong, run my straightener through my hair, and touch up my eyeliner. Usually enough to do the trick for me.

OMG I used to do this ^_^ . I quit though, found a better primer, the Urban Decay for eyes.
At the clubs where I worked guys got their beer goggles on, more and more as the night got later so by the end of the night it didn't really matter if your makeup was smudged or if you had flecks of eyeshadow and mascara on your cheeks.

omg I read this and started laughing. I had to go hunt down this video!

Awws, I'm sure we could all think of a time when we did something with makeup we are now embarrassed of. Anyone ever watch that episode where Jackie is laughing her ass off telling people she caught Donna puttiing lip liner on her eyes? lol
BTW, I started using dermablend recently. Besides the fabulous coverage, it is waterproof. For people like me who sweat a lot and have to go freshen up often, this is great. I no longer have to re-do my foundation/powder. It really does stay looking great. I now just have to reapply bronzer/blush if I have the time.
Another thing I started doing recently, is I put perfume on my clothes and in my hair. This would be overkill anywhere else but with the smoke in the club its fine. I noticed guys notice my perfume much more and compliment me on how great I smell. Its one of the things I would forget about before but spritzing a bit on more throughout the night I think has helped and it doesn't take as long as re-applying makeup.

Omg that was fresh LoL! Just about died as she says, Everyone knows your eyes are the window to your soul, so you have to represent them in a tasteful manner... then proceeds with the that awesome eyeshadow job ... "you dont have to blend"
My sister taught me how to do my makeup when I was a teen...she told me to never be scared of colour, and always wear blue mascara and eyeliner because they highlight brown eyes. she was serious too...Omg, thats what I get for trusting my big sis who was stuck in the 80sI dont think they even make blue mascara anymore, do they? hehehe
Oooh, but okay, as for a tip... In the summertime around here, with the humidity, my makeup melts like crazy. My life hasnt been the same since I discovered primer..another thing are those areosol type cans of Evian water... It just gives this super fine mist of water, and not only does it make my face feel fresher and better, within moments, its like it evaporates, and your face looks freshly done and all nice again. Im guessing it may get warm and icky in the club, so that may help you too.
Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink!
Lip gloss, oil blotting sheets, Eyeliner and i toss my hair around alot so if it looks messed up it's ok cause it's that
sex hair

Primers, sealers, hair spray and lip liner/gloss.

Its really hot on stage at work and we do lots of really long stage sets... so through the years I've found that what works best is if I only put eyeliner, mascara, and lashes on at the beginning of the night and add more makeup as the night progresses, that way nothing gets waxy of cakey, lol.

Some have been said already, and I don't dance (but used to wear mad makeup while working out or playing DDR consistently, lol), but here are mine:
-face primer (smashbox hydrating photo finish) and eye primer (urban decay primer potion)
-green concealer to counteract any redness
-translucent powder
-setting liquid liner with same-color eyeshadow, or LIGHT dusting of translucent
-garnier surf hair paste (lol) very VERY sparingly used to tame flyaways at the crown
