I've been trying to drink a gallon of water a day for the last week, and some days it's been more, and others it's only been half a gallon (still better than most days before this week.)
My skin is not looking that great but it's also right before my period so that could also be the case. Or it could be flushing out toxins though I've been VERY lazy this week and haven't really sweated (I know, bad.)
How much water do you drink a day?
I know that fruits and veggies count towards your water intake, and some people say that even soda and tea count though they act as a diuretic. I'm more just curious in water, or beverages (say like herbal tea, or lemon with water) without diuretic affects that you try to aim for each day.
For those that do a gallon+, do you remember what it was like to start? I've FINALLY gotten to the point the last couple of days, where I don't have to pee every five minutes, so I guess my bladder is stretching out. Wasn't really constipated before, but it's definitely helped with the pre-period constipation that I tend to get (though some of that was trying Virgil's Stevia sweetened root-beer. holy shit does that not agree with me.)
Anyway, what do you notice, if you do that, that you contribute mainly to the higher than normal water intake? (I'm considering normal to be between 64-80 ounces depending on whether you go by the eight eight ounce glasses of water a day, or roughly half your weight in ounces formula.)
Here's a snopes article bringing up some good points to the contrary:

I do feel like I've accomplished something each time I make it to a gallon, but I do hope I start seeing more positive results.
