Sad Anybody else have this problem with their shoes?

    shoes.jpg
    Hey ladies

So, I bought the shoes in the picture like a week ago, wore them to work for the first time last night, and during my first stage set, both heels lifted. The shoes are Kotonica brand. I also bought a pair of ankle boots from Kotonica like a month ago and the same exact thing happened to them the first time I wore them. The heel on one of the boots snapped off too which was a first for me. Also had a pair of ankle boots from Ellie that did the same thing on their first wear but only one heel lifted. I tried to glue the ankle boots back together (first with Liquid Nails, then with Gorilla Glue) cause they were expensive but the glue didn't work.

Am I doing something wrong? I don't have abnormally large heels or feet, I'm not obese, and I don't go on stage and do any fancy footwork that should make all of my shoes break like they're going out of style.

I've decided to just start buying shoes that have the heel cut out but that limits me so much for the rest of my dancing career

edit: idk if the pic is showing up.. so here's a link http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/190/shoeswz.jpg/

Kotonica breaks a lot. I've had three pairs and on all of them the soles came loose. All girls that I know who bought similar pairs had the exact same thing happen to them..

can you return them? I had a chat with an Adam and Eve store manager and discussing shoes she said if they broke within the first few days to return them, though I'm sure not all store owners are as welcoming to challenge the company on defaults.

Can you try E6000 glue? I've had that work, but I also had to bind the sole to the heel REALLY REALLY tightly with shoestring for 24 hours.

That store sounds wonderful. The store that I bought them from however, is the exact opposite. And the gold shoes were on clearance so I know I'd really be fighting an uphill battle trying to exchange them.

And E6000 is like the only glue that I haven't tried so I'll give it a shot. Fingers crossed.

^ yeah, I bought a pair of shoes at one adam and eve, and a year later was talking to a manager at a different one who said that about bringing them back. So I know it's totally store to store and manager to manager.

Just remember that you have to bind the parts together or clamp it down. You can also take a flat ribbon and wrap it in a really flat way and tie it off. So if you don't cut it off afterward, you can still slide your feet in and wear them comfortably.

Ellie does the same thing, I bought some ankle white boots. Wore them the first night and the same thing happened to me. Boo.

^ I had probably the same boots you're talking about but the pink ones with the clear bottoms and they broke the first night I wore them too.

To repair the shoes (if possible) you need to clean to the two sides of the join very well. Use rubbing alcohol. Any body oils and the glue won't stick. The after glue is applied you need to press the join together as tightly as you can. A shoe string as previously recommended would be adequate.

The join needs to be real clean and forced together until the glue dries. 24 hours minimum.

I cant tell if there is a place to add a few stitches with a carpet needle and some high strength clear fishing line.

LexyNYC, send the photo to kotonica http://www.kotonica.com/contact.htm. They should know that they are selling shoddy merchandise and that their brand is now on the SW shit-list. I'm a crazy shoe enthusiast... and this level of quality control is unacceptable. I will hate on them until they do right by you... I'm talking a refund, discounts, and a fruit basket thanking you for bringing this to their attention.

If anyone writes a post asking about shoes I will happily list my favorite brands and then specify that kotonica is inferior and crappy.

    This is my decree.

Those are hot! Love the flashy gold. I tried Gorilla Glue for broken heels once and it didn't work- hopefully E6000 is better.

I'm about to spend a pretty penny on a pair of Ellies...I sure hope it lasts a while.
