Default Web Cam Splitter Resolution Question

Hello cammers, I currently use a Webcam Splitter and wanted to ask those who use these programs as well if you keep the factory settings at 640x480 while using the HD webcams? or change to 1280x720?
ie logitech C910 or 9000 or any other HD webcam

    Any help would be great.
    Thanks!! Dee

we are wondering the same thing. Assuming settings too high might bog down transfer and have artifacts, to too low will impair quality? Using a Sony evi 100 and splitcam streaming to MFC. It was said here MFC doesn't use higher than 480 anyway, but some models there show HD in the avatars.
Any input on ideal settings most appreciated.
    THank you
