    Default sprained/ broken ankle

Last night at work i rolled my ankle to the outside, then fell down and was in horrible pain. It developed a huge knot over the bony area on the outside of my ankle. Today im still unable to walk, and am pretty swollen all the way down to my toes. Im praying this isnt a break, as my husband just lost his job, and although I have some savings, I have no insurance and cant afford two months off. How do you tell the difference between a break and sprain? I am so upset right now!

you can't for sure know w/out going to the dr. you must go asap as the bone starts healing itself and you'll end up with the bone setting that way. you can either have it set or they'll have to rebreak it to set it. either way you can't sit at home and wait. you may lose use of certain tendons and not be able to walk normal again, much less dance.
