    Default Gowns (For Dancing)

Okay so this is going to sound like a dumb question, but what exactly do you wear at a club that strictly requires gowns? All the clubs I've ever worked at did not require a gown at all so I never saw what a room full of dancers in gowns looks like.

Can someone give me an example of what to look for in a good gown? Maybe some pics? Where do you typically purchase them? lol thanks

And how do you take them off on stage? How do you dance in them? No pole tricks I'm guessing?

Oh and I want to add, my concern is that I just don't want to look like an outdated 90's stripper (though I'm too young to be one), by picking some dumb outdated gown. Thanks guys!

Obviously I can't help you with the info you asked but going to a club in person might help you out.
That's so random. Gowns only on Monday nights? I saw the opening pics at Penthouse. Some girls wore flashy gowns, others wore plain ones, and a few didn't even wear one at all. So I'm just stuck in general on the type I should get... maybe I should just get a bunch of different ones? lol. Clubs are so weird with rules. But I guess its going to vary from area to area?

I've never worked at a gowns club either but I guess it would be something like this?

I was totally looking at those earlier lol. They're just so TACKY though! Most look like prom dresses from 10-15 years ago lol. Do girls literally wear those in gown clubs?? I could see maybe in like NY, but it would look so out of place & dated almost anywhere.

They do exist! Some gowns can go horribly wrong if proper steps are not taken!

    1) Hair must be sleek and well kept. NO 90's teased, or UPDOS Please. I'd say avoid up-do's all together. If you must do an up-do, keep it more modern, a sleek ponytail with hair wrapped around it, etc.

    2) Keep the gown as SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE! NO unnecessary frills, bows, diamonds...too GAUDY. Being in a gown club has its own hustle...fake rhinestones, frilly cake dresses, outdated updos=tacky and not classy (no offense to anyone here who likes this stuff) NO prints, NO NEONS! White, black, beige, red for a more daring look.

    3) The simpler the better!!! The hustle is much different...they work out for some, don't work out too well for others. Maintain a classy image (cigarette holder, filter, glam). Pole tricks are fantastic for any stage show, but only do them once the GOWN has come OFF!!!

This site has some pretty decent gowns http://www.odgirl.com/cat--Sexy-Gown..._SexyGown.html

The first gown is very simple and elegant. Yes, it is spandex, but hey this is not a black tie affair here after all lol.

I used to make my own gowns tbh. I would go to marshalls/ross, find hot dresses...shorten them up or cut thigh high slits in them, etc. This would work out great.

Im working at my first gown/long dress before 12 club. You need to find out if there are rules on gowns ie what skin you can show etc, but if its just "it has to be long" then you're ok! Just choose something that fits your personal style and body shape, your favourite colour etc. My "gown" is a two piece leopard print/black front slit skirt with triangle top. I dont have fake boobs so i wont wear the types which i cant wear a bra with. Im 5,2 (plus shoes im about 5,7) but i have to try on dresses cause most dont fit me right, my torso is not long enough to pull off some styles, and my legs are not long enough to wear side slit skirts which i havnt had adjusted. I have to have my long stuff taken up cause even with dance shoes theyre too long for me and i rip them. There's an array of all of the above mentioned styles in my club lol sparkles, prints, neons, rhinestones etc, its all on your personal preference!

My advice, if youre still confused, buy something plain and inexpensive, do a couple of weeks at the new club and then re-evaluate. Then you can buy new if/when you feel you want/need to!

(I take my skirt off/swap it for my sheer shorter skirt for stage shows as ive nearly killed myself once or twice tripping over the longness of it on the pole!)

There was a website that sell some beautiful, yet affordable, gowns. http://www.missbehavecatalog.com/Sea...lts.asp?Cat=22

There is also Kamala Collection. I personally do not like those, I find them tacky, but some dancers like them.

Would something like this be inappropriate: 5525-2.jpg?

Shiny or latex like... solid neutral or basic colors. (I really just want to get away with wearing latex lol)

^^^Personally i like it lol but im a fan of glitzy! Id love to be able to wear something like this but i dont have the boobs for it, and my hips never fit them right either! Go for it!! If you like it and you think it will suit you and you're gonna feel hot in it then you will earn money! xxx
