    Default Tax deductions for escorts

What sorts of things do you guys claim on your taxes? I know there's the more obvious things like hotels and supplies, but are there other things that maybe wouldn't be so obvious? For example, I had to buy a stronger anti-virus program for my laptop, because the one I had was fine for the usual stuff but it wasn't holding up on adult sites used for advertising and review boards. And, can you claim things like valet parking at hotels, wine that you've bought for your incall, lingerie, hair cuts, even business-casual type clothes that you've bought to wear to outcalls? I think a lot of the less obvious things might fall under the "housewife" test, and then you can claim half of them?

Doing my 2011 taxes for dancing has been a nightmare because I forgot to write down half of the things I should have, so I'm being obsessive about keeping a record of everything I spend for business-expenses. I suppose whoever does my taxes next year will have the final say on what I can claim, but I'm not sure what all I should be keeping track of in the meantime.

I dont claim stuff for my computer or home space for the time Im doing admin work and such, only because in order to claim it, it would have to be the sole use...like I *only* use mycomputer for this biz, or I only use that certain part of my home for the biz. Or, if you calculate the percentage, its so complicated that most people get it wrong or fudge it in their favor...so claiming stuff like that is its a huge reason people get audited.

Pretty much yeah, everything that you mentioned...
Admin: webhosting, domain name, online memberships, advertising
Supplies: clothes, makeup, hair stuffs, condoms, lube, water/wine, anti-bacterial soap, hydrogen peroxide, tea tree oil, mouthwase, etc
(I keep two personal hygene bags, one for incall/outcall, one for travel...so included is whatever supplies I put into each one.)
Incall/Outcall: incall rate, gas, mileage, tolls, parking
    Travel: flight, accommodations, meals, transportation/taxi

There are more things for each category...jsut listing stuff off the top of my head. Thats pretty much an idea of how I do it..If I buy something for the purpose of the biz, I save the receipts for everything if I can get one, and I also use one specific card to charge all my expenses, that way theres a record of everything there too.

I have an excel spreadsheet that I use, and as soon as I get home from a date, I log whatever my expenses were, how much I made, mileage, etc etc. Also that way, I can keep see at a glance how what my income/expenses are so far in the month, plus a running yearly total...I like seeing how much I made. How much of that I spent in expenses...not so much

    ^ Thanks!!

I got a separate checking account too, so I'm making a point of using that every time I buy something for the biz, so I can keep it apart from personal stuff. I really like your excel idea, I wonder if I can figure that out. Right now I'm just keeping track using a list on Word lol.

Oooh excel is much better because with the formulas, it will add everything up for you and its a lot less work to maintain once you have it all set up.
I found a business expense/ budgeting spreadsheet that I liked, and then modified it for everything that I needed it to include.

Do you just use the excel that comes on your laptop? Or is there a downloadable one out there that works better for you?

Funny you say that...Ive been using the one on my laptop, but I just got a notice 2 days ago that my trail of excell is about to end. Ive had this laptop like a year now....jeez. But google docs is excellent too, you can upload spreadsheets to it, and it works just as well as the excel program does...

Also, my phone came with a full version of office, and I use sugarsync for my files, so Ill be able to keep updating it that way if I need to. So if you have an android (not sure if its all androids that come with it..I have the Evo) then theres an option for you too...which I keep thinking I should use cause I dont even have to wait til Im home to update my date info.

If you make all your purchases via credit or debit card, most banks allow you to download the data into excel. Then all you need to do is add a column for labeling the expenditure, and it will total each category for you.
