    Default BDSM and Liability

So I've searched and couldn't find it on here, but I'm sure there are some lovely Pro-Domme ladies that can answer this.

I want to get started doing professional Domination in real time sessions. This has always been one of my main dreams for my career. I'm trying to find consent and waiver forms, but apparently, they don't hold up in a court of law IF you're actually prosecuted. I just mainly want to cover my ass so a sub doesn't decide that BDSM isn't for him and decides to take it out on me. Thanks!

Well are you doing edgeplay and heavy bondage?

Also, as an EMT I'll offer you my perspective on a few things:

Contusions (bruises) on the skin, abrasions (on the skin), and so forth are not life threatening.

A contusion on the brain could be concerning depending on several factors.

If you are whipping someone hard enough to leave marks, for example, these are "superficial" and typically should not penetrate the epidermis (outermost layer of skin) and even if they did they should not penetrate below the dermis (second layer of skin) which therefore aren't life threatening.

I would say that most bondage (light to moderate) and spanking/whipping is not harmful.

Bondage would be my greatest concern. Positional asphyxia (suffocation from being restrained), circulation problems, and latex allergies are your biggest risk factors. If a person has CSM (Circulation, sensory, and motor function) in an extremity then they are not too tightly bound. You can check this by feeling their pulses in each extremity radial pulse (wrists) and dorsal pedal (foot). You can also ask them to wiggle their fingers/toes (motor), and touch the extremity and ask if they can feel it (sensory). That is how EMTs check CSM in patients who have trauma injuries, amputations, circulation issues, or tourniquets for example.

Skin should be warm, pink, and dry. Skin that is cold to the touch, diaphoretic (sweaty, clammy), or pale is not normal and can mean the person does not have enough blood flow. Keep in mind if you are in a cold place, they are on a cold floor, or they have some skin conditions they may appear more cold or clammy than a normal person. The bare stomach (abdomen) is the best place to "feel" body temperature. You touch it with the back of your gloved and/or bare hand (but be sure your hands aren't too cold or sweaty).

I would say the chances of you hurting someone with 'typical' BDSM play are low if you don't go overboard. But always consult with a doctor or lawyer before making any decisions about what you will or will not do.
If you are willing to do for one year what other's won't, you can spend a lifetime doing what other's cant.

Thanks! I just basically wanted the waiver for liability purposes, in other words, so someone wouldn't turn around and say that I coerced them into it etc.

I'm not interested in edgeplay and don't know enough elaborate tying to do extreme bondage. I plan on following all safety precautions and playing safe, sane, and consensually.
