    Default The No-Hustle Hustle

I stumbled on this by accident, after I had landed my first real day job, but wouldn't be starting for a few weeks. Didn't know what to do so I kept dancing.

Instead of hustling, I decided to just go to the club to have fun, and not worry AT ALL about my money, instead just letting it pile up. I would approach each customer, but not pressure them for dances or tips, and just chat for a bit. If they tipped me, that was great, but if they didn't, I didn't make them feel cheap, or rushed, and would just excuse myself to go on stage, or to the bathroom. Even had a signal for the DJ to page/rescue me from a jam.

Know what? My earnings DOUBLED! It was also no stress, since I didn't dance for anyone who creeped me out, and because I wasn't worried about the money, I didn't come off as greedy. One guy the other dancers were complaining about tipped me $300 because he said I didn't seem money-hungry.

The moral? Don't overthink. BE that fun girl they go to the club to see, rather than some brand name trying to maximize her revenue. You might even find some interesting conversations, or guys who can help you out with what (or who) they know even if they aren't loaded themselves. You also might get out of your rut, have more fun, and make *more* money. I know it's tough to do if you have bills to pay, but letting that get to you can be a buzzkill and a moneykill.

    Anyone else ever try this?

I don't hustle people very hard but I certainly don't waste my time either. If someone doesn't know within a minute if they want a dance then it's on to the next guy.

I think it's important to have a balance. This is also VERY regional and VERY specific to the kind of club you're in. The no-hustle hustle would work much better in a dive, while a more intense hustle is simply required for a city like Vegas.

This is exactly the vibe I was trying to avoid. I didn't want to appear the slightest bit concerned about money (even if I may have been). Without pressure, or a clock ticking, I just went with the flow. I had escape hatches but rarely needed them, and found that the big spenders were sometimes testing me to see if I was "money hungry."

We go around looking for guys who aren't into our looks (yeah right), and it makes sense that guys with money want to avoid golddiggers. The more convincing your "no hustle" is, the more likely you'll pass one of those silent tests. The guy who gave me the $300 would have been happy to let you walk away after a few minutes thinking he wasted your time. Did he waste mine?

The point of the no-hustle hustle is to flush out the men who are not cheap once they realize you're not acting like a businesswoman when you're supposed to be fun and sexy.

Golddigging is a HUGE turnoff to most men, even when done in the context of the stripclub fantasy. I wish I had done the no-hustle earlier, since it was a lot more fun to just focus on having fun and let the money pile up on its own. When a woman is like that, a guy will tip out of fear she'll move on. She won't have to ask.

My experience was the opposite. Rich guys in the high-class clubs are paranoid about golddiggers or being ripped off. Some guys who are very cheap at first can spend a lot once you pass their tests, like seeing if you walk away after two minutes when they don't tip a lot or buy a dance.

I think there's a fine line between a good hustler who doesn't let on that she's just in it for the money and not giving a fuck if you make money or not and wasting a lot of time just having fun at "work". If I want to have interesting conversations, I seek them out outside of work.

I agree with this. I work at a club where most of your money is made off of drinks...which makes it very conversation oriented. So the no-hustle hustle works really well here, but in an area like, oh say...LA, I can't imagine this tactic working out too well. So yeaha, this is probably something that is completely varient on the region and the specific club you are in.

I can see how this can work in a dive where it's the same guys all the time. Or if you are new, because those guys think they will impress you or something by spending the money. But it will only happen for as long as they think you're fresh meat and once they realize you're just hustling like all the others they move on to another fresh face. Whenever I'm new at a club, and because I have a youthful look, these kinda guys just flat out ask for dances as we have a "normal" conversation while assuming I'm inexperienced.

I find that this hustle really works for me and my club. When I'm really trying to make money I don't do as well because they can sense the desperation. When I am relaxed and focused on having a good time, yet consistently go around to every guy I hardly even have to ask them for dances because usually they ask me first.

There is a lot of cred to this kind of hustle but as much as you are trying to make it seem like you "don't care about money", this acting which benefits you in certain contexts is a detriment in others. For example, I think this hustle would work really well for the earlier part of a weekend shift. Guys are in the mood to have fun and let loose, it's the weekend, there's probably not a whole lot of customers in the bar before 11pmish so you can really take your time with the customers you sit with in this part of the shift. At 1:30 however, when the club is busy, it doesn't make sense to not at least "tweak" this hustle a bit. Keep the carefree attitude, but ASKASKASK. My hustle is similar to this when the bar is slow, guys do like the whole super genuine girl-next-door thing, but when it's busy there's no need for all the conversing, and the customers should get that. A rich businessman should be able to understand that he can't monopolize on your time when it's busy as much as he could when it was slow without paying for it. Obviously there are ways to say that without sounding like a gold digger. "Hey so I'm really loving chatting with you, I can't believe you're an ____ fan too, but look, my shift is almost over, how about we go have some fun before we both have to go home!" No mention of money. No bitchiness. Just compliments and suggesting of fun. If he says no, I always say thank you for the chat it was really nice talking to you, but I should keep working. There are many ways to mix business and pleasantness together.

    ^^^ That.

I employ this basic hustle, because I work a lot of the day/swing shifts, when it is reasonably slow and there aren't drunk guys throwing money around, and a lot of the guys can tell that you're REALLY wanting them to spend when they're one of three customers. I often do get asked for dances by the guys in this situation if I do the no-hustle hustle.
However, this is definitely a time waster in certain scenarios (ie, Bike Week here, we had 150 bikers in the club and it became a "wanna dance" type hustle). You have to pick and choose when and with who to employ it.

^This! A good hustler can appear to be "having fun" and not be overly aggressive and obviously "greedy". If you are JUST there to have fun, customers will pick up on this and you will end up with time wasters buying you drinks and asking what time you finish all night long .

this is usually how i make my money, in my mid-tier club on the monday-thursday shifts when its slower and there are more middle aged men coming in alone. they love this. i make more money during the week than on the weekends. i make most of my money having ppl tip me for time or going up in champagne to talk politics and such.

even though my club is packed on the weekends, i haven't been doing well. i'm not good with the "hustle" hustle. the guys can tell that i'm not what they thought of as the typical stripper (i'm college educated, very in to politics, etc) and if i do the "hustle hustle" then i definitely come off as money hungry. i can't help it.

WHEREAS i have a friend (no offense to her) who is dumb as shit and does the "hustle hustle" and the guys assume since shes dumb she just really likes them and is really in to them and it doesn't come off as a hustle to them.

    **FACEPALM** ugh wtf

so so far I haven't been doing well on the packed weekends AT ALL. i try to come off as cutesy and fun when i hustle-hustle but the guys just see it as money hungry. whereas when my bimbo friends hustle hustle they see it as cute and fun.

idk. i guess i just know where my clientele is (which is fine with me, i'd rather make a couple hundred bucks off a couple guys than bust my ass for every dance anyways) BUT i just wish i was more versatile. or could get hired at the nicer club that gets big big spenders and is mostly champagne oriented but i need to be a size 0 or 2. not exaggerating, its just what they like there. (i'm a size 4 right now 5'3")

i can't do the hustle-hustle either. i feel so akward and money hungry and ridiculous just going up to guys and doing the wanna dance spiel. can't do it! i avoid weekends also, i like making 100/150 off every guy i get a dance from instead of tiring myself out! for me that's how i do the "work smarter, not harder" thing.maybe if i had a banging porn star body that made guy's mouths drop i could pull it off, but i need to engage for awhile and then rape them of their cash

I'm the same way. I guess I should just stick to what works for me and enjoy my weekends to myself lol. but Simone, you know girls in our clubs need more than just a hot body to make money.. some girls are hot and make less and some girls surprise you with how many dances they're doing.
