Default Diary of an Angry Stripper Outed

I may be late but has anyone else been hearing this? One of my my favorite blog authors known as "The Angry Stripper" has been outed as a NYU graduate, former college professor, and contributor to a newspaper. Pretty crazy story, read about it here..

Very talented, intelligent woman. This could either catapult here career into something amazing or end it. Hopefully it's the former!

"Her colleagues were angry she was flashing her 'stripper' money while they were struggling to make ends meet"

Sounds like someone was jealous and wanted to get even. Laughable attempt at best, a reporter going 'undercover' as a stripper is gold. She was freelance too so she had every right to do so without the company knowing. And stripping is legal so she's done nothing wrong. They probably just made her career. Fools.
If you are willing to do for one year what other's won't, you can spend a lifetime doing what other's cant.

Yeah. The only thing that bothers me is that she locked her blog afterwards. Why do that? Its amazing that the public is being exposed to a stripper that exceeds their limited misogynist conceptions of the profession. That strippers can be multi-faceted people just like anyone else. Her locking her blog almost seems like she's conceding that she did something wrong. No need to be ashamed!

lol. I've thought about writing a bio about stripping...but nothing that dramatic has ever happened to me as a dancer so it would prolly be boring. haha.

i love this gal's stuff and I hope she makes a big splash. Funny how people still can't seem to get past the fact that a stripper isn't always on massive amounts of drugs and crazy and incapable of doing anything else with her life as well as dancing. Most other dancers I meet are smart.

Are dancers jealous of callgirls because we can't turn tricks?

That's not the point. The point is that they're jealous that she has a easy/fun/abundant job that makes good money. Nothing to do about what she does in particular, but more about the flexibility, freedom, and money. Its gross to think that some people get into competition mode and love to see others suffer and *earn* every little promotion through years of hard work + grueling long hours. They get SO PISSED when they see someone get ahead by using something like stripping because *they* didn't have that luxury and therefore automatically think the stripper doesn't deserve the money/success from the job. Kind of like the why-do-you-get-those-luxuries-but-i-don't therefore they respond with EWW-I'D-NEVER-RESORT-TO-THAT-I'M-WORTH-MORE!!! Its projection. "EWW-I'D-NEVER-RESORT-TO-THAT-I'M-WORTH-MORE" = "I didn't get luxuries like that so you don't deserve them either!" And not to mention, they see stripping as easy, unearned, unethical money which really makes no sense because its NONE of the above.

Our society LOVES to hate sexworkers! And most of those who do could never get hired as one (or at least wouldn't make decent money).

That IS the point: not everyone is jealous of dancers. Some really just don't like the line of work. I wouldn't call it easy or fun, and there's a reason people dance under pseudonyms that go beyond fear of getting fired from a reporter job.

Yeah. I don't think everyone is jealous, but I do think that there is a reason why people react so strongly to it that surpasses the "ick" factor people prescribe to stripping. To me its just about the fact that a woman is not living within the conventions of societal norms and is actually BENEFITTING from it. I think that disturbs people more than anything. She's a smart, successful, stripper with a masters from a great school. Making loads of cash ($2,000 a night???WTF!!). Doesn't exactly fit the standard 'whore' stereotype.

Always disappointing to hear about ladies getting outed and losing their jobs over dancing! Of course, as a journalist, she really should've known better than to post a photo of herself on said blog. She was quoted as saying that she didn't think anyone would ever do this to her, but surely she's heard of it happening to others, so I'm a little surprised she was that naive. In any case, I do hope things work out for her!

There is a line in a book called 'Belinda' by Anne Rice about how the public will accept sex for pleasure in a movie or book if it results in death and destruction, but that there has to be that 'lesson' there or the public will see it as wrong. When it comes down to the roots of our society, we aren't supposed to enjoy sexuality. We are supposed to be ashamed of ourselves. Anyways, (sorry to ramble) Yeah, people get outraged if a woman can benefit from her sexuality. What??? No drug addictions?? What?? No RAPE?? No exploitation?? They can't stand that. And the women are even worse than the men on the subject.

Well, if I were a hiring manager, especially for a sales position, I would hire a stripper just on the basis that our jib takes so much self motivation and discipline to do it right
