    I suppose it sounds silly since you're right near the ocean, but if the building is sealed well enough, a dehumidifier should help.

    Dehumidifier. Get a decent one. Will take care of the problem.

    Yes, it's your landlord's problem. Mold can make you really sick, and needs to be bleached off. Get a dehumidifier, but also notify your landlord.. it could be in the walls. Ask 4everresolutions about this. She had this problem and tackled it with her landlord.

    Cross ventilation will prevent mold/mildew growth... stagnant air is a breeding ground for spores.
    Open windows for fresh air and run the fan on your furnace 24/7.
    When life gives you lemons, make lemonade... then find someone whose life gave them vodka, and have a party.
