Default My friend has a concern

I have this friend who is interested in doing porn. When she contacted the studio, the insisted that she have to send them naked pictures she send a close up and a picture with lingerie. She feels reluctance into sending them because she hasn't signed anything, nor she had have an audition or anything like that because she fears that those pictures might be used without her consent or altered without her consent. Is her concern valid, or is perfectly fine for a studio to ask for naked pictures just like that, before an audition, or a screen test, or anything like that.

How reputable is the studio? Like are they fairly established in the industry or did she find them on craigslist?

Both: she found the ad on CL, but she said that the studio is a well known internet webpage called Bang Brothers (heck, even I know about them; my ex hub was an avid visitor).

Well, I will say that Bang Bros is legitimate...someone I know got started with porn through them, and well..their offices/studio is right around the corner from me lol Half the people i know, know someone who has worked there. But anyway...just make sure that whoever shes dealing with actually is from BB, and not someone on Craigs posing as a rep from there to collect photos.

If she is here in SoFla I dont see why they wouldnt just ask her to come in...the girl I know didnt have to send any pics in, she directly saw them.

How can she find out if that person is not some guy trying to get naked pictures?

She could ask him his name and number to call him... Then call Bang Bros offices directly and ask them if that person works for them.

Actually though, she should anyway just go on the Bang Bros website, there a link at the bottom of all their sites called models or jobs or something, and fill out the info or send them an email or whatever about working for them...she could mention that she saw their ad on Craigslist and give the link to them, that way if its not a legit ad they placed, they can investigate.

I would check because there are a lot of scams going around and have been for many years. There used to be a "photographer" who would ask women to send him nude photos for Penthouse only he never worked for them.

I assume he might be a scammer. My friend said that the guy's email is not a business email, but a plain ol' gmail account.

Yeah, BB is a legit and from what Ive heard very professional set up, so I cant imagine theyd ask for pics like that using a gmail account. To be honest, I cant even imagine they would even post ads in Craigslist, not to say its not possible, but I doubt its like they have a lack of girls wanting to work with them and desperate for talent...this was here in SoFla that she saw the ad?

No, but in Virginia; she still lives in Virginia, but she is planning to move back to Florida (she was from the Jax area, though).

Obvious answer: go to the website and apply from there.
Don't send nude pics to some guy with a gmail email that says he's from the company. Apply for it the proper way.

Okay...yeah I doubt it was legitimate...if it was a local ad maaaaaaaaybe, but I just dont see it. Like I said, they have more than enough girls wanting to work with them, they dont need to advertise like that. The only thing I have ever seen them put out job postings for are company related, like web developer, camera men, makeup artists, etc...but not models. They just dont need to...

Reasearch and google is her friend. If they are in her area, ask to meet them in person. You can call someone's bullshit easier when you're face to face.

So I was LMAO at how "innocent and naive" your friend is. I wrote this big long thing about how stupid it would be to think that one of the major adult industry companies would cast through someone who used an anonymous provider email and I was planning on ending it with an, "and here's how to REALLY get in touch with Bang Bros casting"

But they DO cast out to someone who uses a gmail address!

    Holy fuck!

If you go to any of the Bang Bros sites and scroll down to the bottom (where model call links usually are) the model link takes you to this page:
    http://www.focusmodeling.com/

    Their email is a gmail.

Going a google on that email it comes up over a lot of real, legit producers sites. If they're not legit producers they're the most clever forgery of said producers' sites I've ever seen.

So. I guess I was wrong! It totally looks scammy and if I hadn't looked into it a little I would have thought it was a scam.

Wow!! LoL! Very good to know.

But at the same time...still a *much* better idea to just contact BangBros through their website, instead of replying to a craiglist ad and sending out nude pics to said craigslist ad.
