    Default getting energy

Just wanted to know how some of you girls manage your days when working so late? I try to wake up early enough to go to the gym and do errands before having to get ready for work which takes me at least 2 hrs :p I hate always being tired...

i find that diet is what keeps my energy. light foods, green tea, tons of water, B vitamins is what keeps me alert. i MIGHT grab a sugar free red bull but things like energy drinks, coffee etc is what makes me crash. drinking a lot (alcohol) is also something that makes me fatigue and lazy. i also make sure to have a good sleep.

Yes a lot of sleep whenever possible, multivitamin daily, a decent diet, not a lot of soda. I also take adderall sometimes on the weekends when I dance to stay up with energy until 4am! Sometimes the drive home is too much, I drive an hour each way. I have to take the addy at a good time or I stay up until noon and my sleep schedule it fkd. I try to take it around 9/10pm depending on how busy the club is.

I always take a shot of the 5 hour energy drink. You dont have to drink the whole bottle,Just take one shot and save the next shot for later.Ive been really busy lately so the 5 hour energy drink helps me stay alert and have a lot of energy for 5 hours plus. One bottle of 5 hour power last me three days. You dont have to drink the whole thing at once.

Eating Healthy for me ( Salad, fruits, veggies, meat), Water!Water!Water! I put fresh lemons in my water , and Exercise has helped me with working long hours. Sometimes I drink green/black tea. Also Super B-Complex Vitamins as well.
When I'm super exhausted then I go with the Sugar Free Redbull and 5hour Energy Extra Strength. For some reason the regular 5hour did not do it for me.

I just bought some Ginseng and since I have been using it I rarely take my redbull or 5hour lately.

This sounds weird, but I try to time out my caffeine intake. According to researchers, it takes about 30-45 min. for caffeine to become activated in your system. Its affects then remain for something like 3 hours. Therefore, I try my hardest, except when I'm desperate, to drink coffee in the morning. I do not want to crash in the afternoon/early evening, when I'm at my internship. The same goes for strip club. I try not to take my 5-hour energy shot before I get to work or during the beginning of the shift. I've done that in the past, and *cough*the other day because I was desperate. It screws me. I lose energy by the time I'm fully "there" mentally. I've found that taking the drink in the middle of my shift works best.

Researchers also say that sipping caffeinated drinks, such as coffee, over a period of time, works better than gulping down at once.

The biggest time-saver for me was to invest in my own Total-Gym, my own treadmill, workout videos, tanning bed etc. This cut out having to get 'ready' to hit the gym, as well as the travel time in both directions. I could simply get up, have coffee ( actually espresso ), do my workout, tan, and THEN shower, eat 'breakfast', and get myself 'ready' to go out ! Between the time I was spending getting 'ready' to hit the gym, plus the time I was spending getting 'ready' a second time after coming home from the gym, as well as the travel time to and from the gym, I saved myself at least 1 hour every day ... which translated into an extra hour of sleep thus increased 'energy' ! This also saved me a fair amount of money in gym membership fees, tanning salon fees, gasoline etc. as well as in taxes ( the total-gym, treadmill, tanning bed etc. were partial tax write-offs )

The next biggest time-saver for me was to move all of my regular 'bill paying' and nearly all of my 'non-necessities' shopping online ... leaving only two major time consumers. The first was a well planned weekly shopping trip for groceries and other 'necessities'. I dedicated one day a week for this ( usually mid-week ), and I didn't work out on that day. The second was laundry, housecleaning, baking, heavy gardening etc. I dedicated another day per week for this ( usually Sunday ), and I didn't work out on that day either.

As far as 'extra' energy, quality coffee / espresso definitely helps. I never had good luck with the 5 hour energy drinks since they never 'sat well' if taken on an empty stomach. I also 'religiously' take a variety of vitamins / herbal supplements.

Also, something as simple as blackout curtains helped me quite a bit and I need to actually invest in a new pair or a window blocking item of some sort.

Your body doesn't produce melatonin during the day, so if you're sleeping in a room that isn't dimmed quite a bit, you're not getting the melatonin that you need
since sunlight or even bright light makes the hormone production very very low.

Plus, you wake up less from the light in your room, get deeper sleep, and feel more rested that way.

Also, eat protein or fruits or veggies before bed (not carbs) and try to not eat the last three or so hours before bed (I know, so hard after the club.)
Your body produces human growth hormone while you're sleeping, but it won't produce this if you're still digesting.

Plus, sleeping is a time for you body to heal stuff it was too busy to get to during the daytime. If you're digesting food, your body is diverting energy
there where it could be diverting energy towards healing different stuff that went wrong which would likely translate to a long-term energy bump
since you'd have less immune system stresses among other things.
