Mind Blowing Lazy and losing motivation HELP

ive fallen into some bad habits lately. i know how to hustle and i am capable of making good and great money.
lately though in the past few months i was exhausted with uni, would hardly approach and sit with customers, mostly do podiums and dances if people came up and asked me so ive been stuck in a 150-300 rut. i really need to get my ass into gear since i quit uni now and have to focus on my label and saving money and shit but its so hard for me to stay more than 4-5 hrs and make the minimum and i havent had a night over 600 in ages.

how do you keep motivated and focused?
ill prob write more later.... just finished work, tired n drunk lolz

Do you often get drunk at work? Cutting back on drinking might help. It's so easy to fall into party mode instead of work mode when there's lots of alcohol flowing.

It sounds like you have some pretty clear goals and ambitions, and since you're in fashion, I imagine you're a pretty visual person. How about putting together a vision board? That gives you something to look at every night before work to give you that little push you need to hustle hustle hustle.

lol actually its the opposite problem, i need a few drinks before i can effectively work. otherwise im too scattered/shy/socially awkward and after a drink or two i become more driven and focused on the money but that being said i dont often get completely plastered [only if im in a long show or its a very slow night or something]
but its not really the alcohol i just need to stop being shy doing less things!!
last sat i made myself be really motivated n shit and walked out with double what i usually make and now i wanna do that everynight i work

Saturday night, I decided to do the very bare minimum--stage sets, goof off, wait for custies to approach me--I STILL made $300 and it felt great to just have some fun, not stress out and still make decent income.

Honestly, it sounds like you need to lower your standards a bit. It's great that you want to be motivated and money focused, but don't beat yourself up because you're walking out with less than phenomenal cash. And $600 IS phenomenal these days. A lot of girls make the mistake of taking their money for granted...right now, I make around 200-300 weeknights and 400-500 weekends. I'm very happy with it. Another girl was in the dressing room, whining because she made "less than 800." Turns out she was leaving with 700....seriously??

I say, work hard when you feel up to it but cut yourself some slack...you don't want to fall into the pit of greed and start basing your self worth on your money making abilities. $300 is still a lot of money, afterall!

What were you doing differently when you were making $500?

You said that you motivated yourself on Sat night, and did well. What did you do? Do that again.

I agree that you're still making good money for "dicking around," but I also understand that you have higher goals for yourself. For me, it's actually not always about the money, in the sense that I like to leave work feeling as though I was productive. Don't get me wrong - I will happily leave work with a crapload of money, feeling like I didn't do anything. However, if I made $300, yet felt like I was lazy and didn't work to my full potential, I would still want to make more...not because I wasn't necessarily happy with $300, but because I knew that I could do better.

(This isn't directed towards the OP): I don't think it's necessarily good to compare yourself to what everyone else is making, either. Just because Sparkles and the rest of the group are averaging $150, and you're making double that, it doesn't mean that you should think you're necessarily doing that good. We are here to do our personal bests. maybe Sparkles works 40+ hrs/week at another job, her mom just passed away, and she is going to school FT...so maybe given her energy levels and circumstances, $150 is good. However, if you're stripping FT and on top of your game (energy-wise, no drug addictions, etc), then maybe $150 is not good for you.

Shit, I work my ass off to make 150-300. I never made over 400. But this town sucks. And I suck. I should be worth more than what I make ):

i think the only thing that has ever kept me motivated about anything is sex........ and considering all the feminine boys i see in my personal life [i constantly have to make all the moves] maybe hustling more is an opportunity to better my flirting skills and build more confidence? im gonna think that from now on and see if it makes a difference. ive been getting some new tail im really really excited about maybe this way i can enjoy myself at work, practice the whole being sexy and dominating thing, bring home all the money to roll around on and then roll into bed with rocker booty!!

Dancing really taught me to be confident with myself! It has taught me a lot of good things, actually.

This is something I struggled with when I first started dancing. I'm not a social person at all, I usually don't talk much unless to people I know very well and I avoid talking to strangers. But I knew that being assertive is the way to making good money so I went for it. It paid off, and I saw that I could make very good money while being more outgoing, which gave me more confidence. Currently, I'm making slightly less than usually. I'm having fewer $600+ nights and even fewer $800+ nights, but I'm still averaging probably about 400 or 500 which is nothing to complain about. I usually drink on the job, too. It is a mode of relaxation. But I never get sloppy - I always keep my drinking in moderation and under control. I think forcing myself to be assertive in order to make money has paid off in my everyday life. I'm more assertive in general now, nowhere near as passive as I used to be, so that's a plus. I just know I have to talk to customers to make money, and there's no way I'm walking around in heels for seven/eight hours and showing off my boobs to not be banking.

My problem is that I will lack the drive and motivation to even go into work. I'm so busy with school that often times I'll plan to work four or five days a week and slack off and only work a couple. I could be making tons more than I do if I worked twice as much.

I really just had to force myself to go and talk to people until it became no big deal to do it. Slowly got over feeling shy. And being positive and loving reallly helps (LOA thread lol). Like, without that, some guys will come in, I'll look at them and think of all the reasons I don't want to tlak to them- they're complaining about drink prices- cheap; they're really loud and boisterous- I don't feel up to dealing with that; he's a young local- probably a hard-man after free sex; they're in so early, I can't be bothered right now.
But just thinking positive things about everybody, I don't talk myself out of it and I give off a warm vibe to them.

Actually when I do go over to everyone more often than not they're no trouble and do spend, judging on appearances and all that.

And going over to a group with another girl for support if you're just not feeling it.

My best motivation was always knowing that if I did well, that I wouldn't have to be at the club for 2-3 ( or more ) days! I'm not sure what your weekly earnings goals are ... but you might want to set them as a starting point and that would give you something to base your hustle on ( knowing the faster you made your money, the less time you are there , and the more time you have for other things ).

This doesn't really answer your question but I agree with setting lower goals so then your not pissed off and unmotivated when you leave work with less. Sometimes if I'm not feelin it but work Anyway I set a low goal like 100 or 150. Last Thursday that was my goal and I left with a little over 400! It made me so happy and so ready to work my next shift. It helps you stay positive as well which is always helpful.

Ok yes I do the low goal thing too, I don't know why but it helps set my mind at ease. For example I set my goal for $200 every night, then once I make that I tell myself "Ok now let's just see if you can get to 300". I just keep doing that everytime I get to a new $100 marker. It may not work for everyone, a lot of my friends try to aim super high so that if they fall short they're still happy. But that only disappoints me.

I do this too! I work out a number in my head. I need to pay for x,x,x,x, ill be working x amount of time this month so I need to make a min of X. That is the number I go for about for my goal, and if I make it Im happy, and the extra over the goal is saving, spending money etc
