    Default Interesting perspective

...On manipulating a customer's image of you.

When you're shopping for new work outfits, how often do you think about how it can hurt or help your business?

The image you create for yourself largely influences the image a customer has of you, and thus can make a dramatic impact on your ability to make money. We all love to find that one outfit, or accessory that makes us feel totally sexy, and of course feeling sexy and confident can bring in more cash. But, it's equally important to think about how well your self-made "look" matches your persona.

For example: I have often come into work looking somewhat drab...my hair is in a ponytail, I'm wearing a simple two-piece outfit and very little makeup. I have been criticized by other girls because they would "never dream of coming to work looking like that." Well, sometimes, it really works and I have an incredible night! It helps me because I love to sit with customers, tell vulgar jokes, goof off, have beer chugging contests, etc. A lot of customers are attracted to me because I choose to reveal so much of myself and come off as genuine and "real." That is what my wardrobe says about me...there are no gimmicks.

I have seen this work for girls who appeal to older gentleman and choose to wear corsets and rhinestone jewelry. The same rule applies to bleached blondes who like fluorescent pink and dramatic makeup. On weekends, I do a dominatrix act on the side, and come in wearing leather and spikes.

So....what does your dresscode say about you? This is a wonderful opportunity to be adaptable and appeal to every customer's taste. Afterall, the first thing they notice is not our dazzling personalities. What I love about this subconscious "hustle" is that I can change it every night, or even multiple times per night, and it really does work!

What tools do you use to express your stripper persona?

I go for the girl next door look, so generally the only make up I wear is mascara, and I'll rock a colourful mini dress or skirt & bra set. Very bubbly, flirty, and genuine. It works for me since most of the girls I work with are glamazon Barbies, so it really makes me stand out.

Customers are attracted to you because you're a good actress, you act like what you look like, you're probably a good salesperson, and you keep congruence.

Branding is everything. For strippers, this largely means our looks and our actions. The best saleswomen in the adult industry are the best actors. Usually the slutty hustle is the easiest, but not for everyone. Act how men think you would act. If you look like the girl next door, act like an overdramatic version of that. If you look like a bitchy barbie, act like an overdramatic version of that. (The only exception to this rule would be if you look a certain way but are most comfortable acting like a domme or something... in that case, act how you are most comfortable.) The best continual seller in sales is the one that has the most congruency. America loves McDonalds (lol yes I know this is a bad example but bear with me) and McDonalds looks the same EVERYWHERE! So should YOUR BRAND. Keep the same looks (new outfits and new items are fine but keep the theme), keep the same personality, keep the same talk, keep the same hustle. Congruence.

i'm a platinum blonde with fake boobs, and my attitude is fun and kind of bossy and sarcastic. that's my personality and that's what works best for me. I feel like if I had my natural hair color (dark brown) that attitude could come of as bitchy and complain-y, which isn't very attractive. being blonde and giggly with fake boobs and hot pink everything kind of lets me get away with it. i also wear lots of rhinestone earrings. almost all of my outfits and nail polishes are UV glow. it works for me. i do anything else and people aren't as interested, and i don't have as much fun or pull in as much $$.

See, I do the opposite. I dress like a glamazon barbie because that's just how I like to dress at work, but I have a girl-next-door type of personality/hustle. Lots of customers are surprised by my attitude, and I think combining two stripper personas together gives me a real edge over the competition. Who can say no to an adorable nice girl in super sexy lingerie?

I change my look as I please because it's my body and my life, and I don't feel like maintaining a look for work.

On that note, I usually change my personality at work throughout the night. I have mood swings as it is, so it's fun to be someone new when I feel like it. Sometimes I'm witty and intelligent, or quiet and shy, or ditzy and horny, or bratty and demanding. I like changing up my moods and looks.
