The computer I use to cam/make clips/ect died late last week so to do something productive I've been reading up on ways to improve my site, brand ect. As we all know, other than SW and a few other forums/blogs there isn't a lot of information directly pertaining what we do but this dosnt mean there isnt a wealth of infomation just sitting out there waiting for use to mold it into useable bits.
This morning I ran across just one of those tasty morsels of information this morning. A article about and Etsy seller, her simple Do's/Dont's for customer service, branding & increasing sales, most of its common sense (which I feel is getting much less commonly known)
Here's a few things she mentions that I'm guilty of.
You should always be ready when someone sends you some promo loveDO always have your shop looking tip top! You never know when you will be featured in an etsyfinds email or on the front page or maybe even on a popular blog. So if people are coming for the first time it may be the difference of them giving you a heart and returning later or not.
Sure its awesome to promote everywhere but only bite off what you can chew.DON’T feel like you need to have a facebook, twitter, blog, and flickr account before you can sell anything, although all of these things can be useful but they do take a lot of time
Worry about you... Your brand, your sales, your market, let everyone else worry about what their doing.DON’T obsess about the number of sales. Yes there are shops that have sold 10 000 items +++ but why worry about them? You cannot compare your shop with other shops that sell different products to yours, so don’t.
