Default Product rave for blondes -- Ion hard water shampoo!

So I've been a bleached blonde for a while now and my stylist reccommended purple shampoo to keep it toned/white and ward off the dingy yellow 7th grade home bleach job look. But I always felt like my hair was limp and the purple shampoo never lathered.

I thought a clarifying shampoo might help and I know my water is bad so I tried out Ion's hard water shampoo from Sally's and my hair has been brought back from the dead! The purple shampoo and the conditioner are actually able to be absorbed now. So if your shampoo isn't lathering well or your blonde gets yellowy fast you may wanna try this stuff out.

Do you (or any other blondes) have a toner suggestion? I bleached my hair twice last week and it still has some orange tones in the lower layers, so I want to bleach those specific areas again then tone it all to get any lingering yellow out. I've thought about Manic Panic Virgin Snow, but it's demi-permanent and I have extremely thick and fairly long hair, so I'd rather not have to deal with all of it fading awkwardly...

Virgin Snow is kinda crappy, but super moisturizing and gentle. When I was platinum, I'd use Virgin Snow all over dry clean hair, cover with a shower cap and leave overnight. It would look awesome upon rinsing in cold water, but the yellow was back again less than a week later. I had some good luck with a blue-based protein filler combined with a blue-toning shampoo, lathered and left for twenty minutes. A lot of people online rave to great lengths about Wella Color Charm in White Lady for toning. Never tried it, but I would if I was in a situation needing a toner for blondes. I've used the Color Charm line before, and it's left my hair in better condition than before I dyed.

Hi! I also agree that Manic Panic's Virgin Snow is not that great - even the Manic Panic Virgin Snow Amplified. I bleach my hair regularly but I have never tried another toner yet. I did go to Sally's a few days ago and they suggested that I tone with Wella Color Charm Ivory Lady (T10). I have not used it yet but it says that it tones pre-lightened hair evenly and it is an extra mild formula. I'm not sure if it would work for you not but it may help

I've used the white lady stuff before and it worked great. Knock on woog I've gotten to a point where I can bleach my roots at home myself with my dark dark brown hair and get platinum without a toner.

Thanks! I'm supposed to do it again tomorrow, so I'll try the Wella product. I've read good things about it in a few other forums too, so hopefully I'll have good luck with it.

Edit: I just did some more reading and noticed that White Lady has been renamed to "Lightest Ash Blonde." I was told by my hairdresser that my hair is so bleached right now that an ash toner will likely turn my hair green. Has anyone tried Ivory Lady, which is also a Wella color but for more yellowy hair than orange? After this round of bleach, I will have basically a pale yellow shade at the darkest, as most of my hair right now is already yellowy and white at the root, so I'm kind of afraid to get a toner that's meant for darker orange/brassiness...

I'm a natural dark brown and it has always been hard for me to maintain non-brassy medium blondes....I can't even imagine the constant tinkering it must take to maintain a good platinum or even white blonde.
