    Sad i forgot you gotta have a tough skin for this..

    ....so I forgot one of the newbie rules that you need to have a tough skin for this .... I dealt with my 1st dance rejection and im really bummed out about it. Ive been totally doubting myself all day, like what could i have possibly done better. Or maybe im just overreacting. When I called the club owner back he said he was over-staffed. I kinda felt that last week when i came to the club I got naked for nothing. And why the hell would you tell me I look nice and have a great personality but not hire me.....i just dont get it

    Some clubs really are simply over saturated, especially if it's the off season. You are DEFINITELY over reacting. Try another club, or go back to your first choice club in a couple of weeks and check in again.

    Aw hunny I'm sorry. I admit I'm guilty of overreacting after 9+ years of dancing if a club doesn't hire me. fuck em, it's their loss. But yes you are correct that you must have a thick skin and only the strong survive in this business. hugs

    Don't knock dives! There can be damn good money in those, and I find they can be a more low-pressure introduction to stripping for a newbie.

    I wouldn't take it personally hun. Just try another club until you get one and like Mediocrity suggested go back to your first choice after a little while to see if they're looking to hire. Since this is a business based on our bodies it's hard to separate job rejection from some sort of personal flaw. Do something good for yourself and get back on that horse c;

    Yeah I'm going to try these two others places one is another upscale club and the other one is a bit of a dive but the money is good from what I've heard . I went to my yoga class and just had to remind myself that I'm damn good at what I do and no one should get me down . Positivity in equals positivity out

    I auditioned at a club and was told I was too fat! I was a size 4!!!! And I made like $100 from that audition in 3 songs! Then was hired right on the spot at two other competitve clubs in the area. One didn't even make me audition and see me nude. The housemom took one look at me and said "when can you start?" I know it's hard but don't take it personally. I really think there's some clubs that don't know how to tell someone no without doing it in a non-insulting way.

    sometimes being in the racial minority [I'm talking about that particular club not by society standards] can work in your favor. yes some clubs try to stick with "one look" but they also have to add variety sometimes... so unless you are personally uncomfortable with a lack of diversity you might strike gold in place where diversity is slim.

    that maybe true... i do get along very well with different types of people, i just kinda had my heart set on my first choice tho lol .. but its where ever the good money is. Also do you think i should just forget about the other club or just check back later?.... when would be an appropriate time frame to touch bases with the club manager again to see if there are openings should i call like last time or show up to the club ?
