Default Visiting New Orleans in July... should I bother working?

By no means am I making a special strip-trip to NOLA this summer as I understand it's the off-season... but I will happen to be in town anyway, and was wondering if I should pull a night or dayshift or 2 at a club just to make some extra spending cash.

Is it even worth it or will I probably just walk out owing the club $$? (making $200-$400 would be nice). Are the clubs there ok with traveling dancers? Do I need to know how to dance really well on stage? (I don't do pole tricks or very much floorwork, most of the girls at my home-club just strut around on stage).

Any updated information about summer in NOLA would be awesome for someone who will be in town anyway probably staying with a friend.

    Thanks in advance!

All the clubs in NOLA are travel friendly. They don't care if you can do pole or floorwork. Obviously if you work during the weekend there is generally more money potential than the weekdays. That is not to say that you wouldn't make money during the week. It is just slow. You can certainly make $200 -$400 in the summer if you hustle and don't get discouraged easily.

If you work in the quarter, expect to stay late. It is hit or miss, so you may make money or you may leave with $30. Ricks and Penthouse are the more high end clubs in the quarter, and favorites of many dancers. If you are hot you will have a good chance of getting hired at either of them. I can't vouch for the other clubs on Bourbon. If you want to go out of the way to Visions, it is a locals dive bar, but you are guaranteed to leave with something if you work the weekend.
