    Default Help need apartment fast!

So i have read old post about people editing bank statements to get a place. I've tried all programs but they are complicated gimp, photoshop. No simple copy and paste. One program works but adds a watermark when saved. Any one that has done this and can help I would appreciate it thanks.

Tried that and gave up long ago lol! We are having to stay at our current place for at least a year, by which time i'll have proof of income from my first year tax return. If you're registered for tax you can use your returns, any 1099's you have, paystubs etc x

Do you have payslips/ stubs from previous jobs or anything else to prove your income? If not you will have to be prepared to offer 3-6 months rent upfront AND have someone who will act as a guarantor(sp?) for you should you default. Good luck x

It's never a good idea to alter documents in order to obtain a lease on an apartment. That would constitute fraud and could get you into some serious issues.

    I'm going to second SarahTime.

You could probably do it in photoshop without too much difficulty - create a little white box, put it over the number. Create a text box over the white one and type in the number you want. Flatten layers, print, done. Seeing as most people use internet banking, you would be altering a screenshot, so it wouldn't be an issue that it was obviously doctored.

HOWEVER - like Sarah said, you are taking a big risk doing this. You probably wouldn't end up with some of the more serious things (depending where you are, that may or may not actually be illegal), you are very possibly going to run into other issues with the landlord discovering you.
    - If he contacts the bank/runs a credit report, he will know that you falsified documents, and you won't get the apartment.
    - If you get the apartment, and then he later finds out that you lied, you have broken the lease, and he can evict you with only a couple of weeks notice. That would be the big one for me - its HARD finding a decent place to live, and you don't want to end up back in this same situation again in a months time when he gets around to running a credit check and realises that things don't add up. On top of being kicked out, you will have no references for a new apartment, because your landlord would tell any prospective landlords that you lied about your income!

Have you looked into places that are credit check only (assuming that you don't have terrible credit), taking out a loan for x months rent in advance, or living with someone else or getting someone to co-sign on a lease?
I take cash, debit or credit. I just don't take shit.

I don't know if maybe you can try to rent an apt or home from a private landlord. I was going to do this at one point and I was worried about income verification too bc I had just started, but he just mainly cared about getting his money on time because he had some tenants who did not pay.

I second going with a private landlord. You may also want to have at least 3 months rent to show that private landlord you are serious and have the money to pay.

All I can add is that having cash in your hand is becoming less and less important, because new(ish) US gov't regulations covering corporate lenders / landlords now requires them to verify where that cash actually came from in the first place. Granted that a private owner landlord isn't bound by these regulations.

Has anyone tried paying 3 months upfront? Do you think that would work? I don't have a credit score.

Are you in the US? Everyone has a credit score... just, not necessarily a good one!

Also, another thing I wanted to add.... I would be careful about binding yourself to an apartment if you JUST started camming, in case you don't make the type of income that you hope you will. Being "new" can give you a false impression that you are going to be making a lot because the "new girl" status helps in the beginning to boost your earnings (usually). It would really suck to get into a place you might not be able to afford after several months of camming, ESPECIALLY if you alter the documents to get into the apartment in the first place.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but unfortunately a lot of girls realize this is not a get rich quick job and end up moving on to something else. Just something to keep in mind.

I'm not new. I'm from the US, and I don't have a credit score. I ALWAYS make my goal, I know exactly how much I'm going to make each night. I need privacy to make even more money, actually. I also need a better internet connection, which is why I gotta live alone. I'm sure you've seen my posts on here before, why'd you think I was new? Just asking. I also never said I was going to alter documents... so I'm a bit confused??

Uh... Sorry. I guess I should have specified the second paragraph was directed at the original poster... who is new and started this thread to ask how to alter documents.

But I am curious now why you think you don't have a credit score. Everyone has one, even if you have never had credit cards or anything like that. Many things effect your credit that you may not be aware of. Getting utilities such as electric and Internet usually requires a credit check, which many people aren't aware of. So even if you are not obtaining loans or credit cards, you still have a credit score. Check out www.creditkarma.com and you can get a rough estimate of your credit score. It's totally free. I have found its usually about 10 points higher on that site than the "official" credit scores tho.

I guess if you have absolutely nothing in your name even a bank account or electric bill then you might not really have one.

It is possible to not have a credit score. There is no default credit score so if she has no accounts or only 1 or 2 accounts in her name, then she wouldn't have a credit score. Credit scoring agencies need a certain amount of credit history in order to generate a score.

OP: I agree with the private landlord thing. It's usually pretty easy. They usually just want a small deposit and first month's rent. However I found it very easy to get an apartment a few years ago and my credit wasn't the best and I did not have to put down a significant deposit. We're still very much in a recession and rental companies are a little more lenient with their requirements. I do think proof of income would be necessary but a lot of landlords are willing to work with you especially if you have a deposit.

If you need an apartment FAST it might be easier to get a sublet or a vacation rental and pay in full for a month or two.

You know a extended stay hotel is always an option! Just be sure to check out reviews and stuff. I have had to go that route before. I am currently having to do that now. I got all my mail though and stuff.

That's a good option. I just wonder about internet speed and if it would be fast enough to cam on.

I never have to worry about that. I have my CLEAR Usb. It is great. I split cam with multiple sites with no complaints from customers. I run the Streamate HD encoder along with a few other sites! I only pay like 49 a month.

What I did for my apartment was just show them 4 weeks of earnings statements from SM. I just cropped out the top of the page and only left the actual earnings part and they accepted it cause I said I work as an affiliate marketer
    lol wut?

You cash them into a bank account - then show them the check stubs that match up to the deposit in your bank? No need to hand them something that says "Streamate" on them.

Lucky! Clear isn't available in my area yet. I wish there was something else like that.

It's not... seriously. I wouldn't even bother with the hotels. I used to live in a bunch of 'em in SF. They're pretty gross too, lots of homeless using the hallway as a bathroom etc... But that was SF. Not sure if it's like that everywhere else.

All I'm saying is it is possible not to have a credit score and not everyone has one. And generally if there is not enough history then you won't have a credit score. There can be exceptions but the original comment was that everyone has a credit score and that isn't true.
