Thumbs up Healthy but omg delicious foods

Time to share some delicious but healthy foods that keep your energy going, or are low-calorie if you're on a diet!

    MY NEW FIND:
    - Buy a packet of natural, raw almonds
    - Buy a small jar of salsa (I like Tostitos Chunky Medium Spicy)
    - Dump the packet of almonds in there, mix in, and eat it, like a stew/gazpacho

Ridiculously healthy, and pure flavor and texture (I hate watery texture, so I tend to hate fresh fruit)! And low calorie, if you're counting them! Plus, it's spicy, so it'll boost your metabolism. ohhhyahyah, woot woot!

    Now share your favorites...

Zucchini noodles. They're like fake tits: If they're done right they can mimic the real thing and in some cases turn out better

A slice of jarlsberg cheese and a small apple sliced up is my favorite right now.

Not so much delicious I suppose as it doesn't really taste of anything but healthy, versatile and filling-quinoa!It's so nice mixed with salsa for a cold salad type thing or warm with seasoning as an accompaniment or with cheese etc, same way as one would usually use noodles or pasta .

^ LOVE quinoa! This recipe kicks ass (but make it with less lemon juice and tweak depending on your preferences): http://allrecipes.com/recipe/mediter...-quinoa-salad/

For the last year or so, I've been addicted to gluten-free crackers ( http://www.amazon.com/Doctor-Kracker...5063364&sr=1-5 ) with warmed goat cheese smeared on top. Holy balls...is it hot in here? ::humping plate::

    ^Gulten free crackers are great!

    Some of my favourites:
    1.Natural pop-corn-low fat, yummy-and crunchy to boot!
    2. Hummus (with either gluten free crackers or veg' sticks).
    3. Home made salsa with organic corn chips: finely diced tomatoes, spanish onion, cucumber, green pepper/capsicum, coriander, chilli/jalapenos (give or take), garlic, olive oil, lime juice, tabasco sauce, cracked black pepper.
    4. Home made Guacamole with organic corn chips: cubed avocado, finely diced or crushed garlic, finely diced spanish onion, sea salt & cracked black pepper & drizzled with olive oil and lime juice.
    5. Avocado with sea salt (give or take), cracked pepper and a squirt of tabasco sauce is a GREAT alternative to dips!
    6. Snack on a handful of berries or fruit, om nom nom nom!
    7. Salads!
8.Yoghurt/or Frozen yoghurt (while it may still have some sugar, it is a bit healthier than ice cream).
    9. Not a food, but anyways lol-green or herbal tea-so healthy and low-cal, calming and even warming in the winter time. Or, sparkling mineral water with fresh lime-great alternative to soda!
    10. Home made soup-yum!
    11. Rice or corn cakes with smeared goats cheese/or low fat cream cheese topped with cucumber or tomato slices and cracked pepper (or anything yummy you have on hand). Or Chilly Philly lol.
    12. Flavoured canned tuna (with or with out crackers).

    I have miso soup envy.

After my whole digestion problem after getting my boobs done I discovered non fat greek yogurt. I add just a itty bitty tiny squeeze of honey and it is amazing. Sometimes I throw some craisins or granola or both. Even my two year old loves it.

mmm...greek yogurt with honey. I add walnuts to mine.

There's a lower cal peanut butter out that's powdered and you add water. I add a small amount of honey to it as well (I have such a bad sweet-tooth. like really bad). I like that with apples.

Apricots with goat cheese mousse (oh god) or, my favorite: Avacado and cheese tacos. They taste odd fried in pork fat, though, so I'm going to try coconut oil next time. SO GOOD

    Avocado = healthy; self-explanatory
Cheese = get the real, organic stuff, and you've got healthy minerals
Coconut oil = VERY healthy, good for heart health, etc.

Don't believe the saturated fat witch hunt...it's trans fat that's the real baddy.

Last night I made baked kale chips with sea salt and nutritional yeast, which gives a great cheese-like, umami taste. It's such an easy, delicious, and inexpensive snack. I also enjoy full fat yogurt with melted raw honey and fruit. The yogurt is so filling that I almost never finish a recommended serving size, and it's actually helped me lose some weight.

I had a wrap at Starbucks today and it was delicious, filling, and it only had 290 calories. I realized it would actually be really easy and cheap to cook at home so here's the ingredients: a wheat tortilla, egg white, spinach, feta cheese, and tomato. I'm totally going to buy all of this at the grocery store and start eating it for breakfast a lot.

Organic minerals won't do you any good when you're morbidly obese.
I should have clarified CORN tortillas. ~100 calories in 2 which knocks it down to 500 calories (because you should NOT need 1/2 cup of cheese! 1/4 will easily have you covered with this!)

Who the hell fries an entire taco?! It takes MAYBE 1/8 of a tablespoon of oil to fry a tortilla! Alternatively you could just NOT fry it....

    I luv tabbouleh!,

Also one of my fave things to do is slice up a raw tomato or two w/ hot sauce, garlic salt or celery salt, w/ crushed black pepper. But it in a Tupperware container & shake it up & chill it. So tasty & filling!

2nd, when you fry the tortillas you add a shitload of calories. So start out with the 100 calories for the tortillas and depending on how much oil you use (you made it seem as though you fry the entire taco instead of just the tortillas), you will be adding a minimum of 150 calories but probably more like 300+.

Don't get me wrong, I love the shit out of anything with avocados and cheese but your recipe sounds like a total diet killer. Have you ever tried lettuce wraps? You can put avocado and cheese inside lettuce and save all of the calories from the oil and tortilla.

Wooooah ladies. Take it easy! It's a healthy foods thread. There are so many different diets out there...we could debate each one of these posts all day.
