I started at an upscale men's club - green bangs, piercings, half sleeve. I made no where near the amount of money I make at the club I'm at now. I feel comfortable there though, so maybe you need to try clubs you feel comfortable at. You'll never make money if you aren't comfortable! And divey clubs can be some of the best Most men who attend the upscale clubs know what type of girl to expect. I am now at 2 full sleeves, thigh, feet, back, side and neck. I wear tons of hot pink, rhinestones, etc.. and am able to make money from guys who I'd expect to like barbie-esque chicks and girls like us! Rock it girl, and tons of luck and best wishes on your search!

I'm glad you found a club(s) to work at. I too am heavily tattooed and do not let that hinder me. I'm glad you have not let it hinder you.

Im guessing this must be an issue where u live because In Aus, Ive worked at heaps of clubs and tattoos are NEVER an issue, ever. If the girl is hot, she's hot! I work at the most upscale club in my state and one of the best in the country, and its almost impossible to find a girl these days without at least one tattoo....maybe its just a culture thing? Id say be proud of ur tatts babe, and fuck any stuck up club that says different..... soooo many guys I know love tatts, in fact because I dont have a tattoo, customers are surprised (thats how common they are here). And I think it works against me haha!! Good luck with the hussle be proud of who u r, and if u want to cover up then go ahead, but just know that its probably the town or place u r in and their outdated standards!

"having tattoos" is not the same as "being heavily tattooed" and neither of those things is the same as "being alternative"...
Each of these things, and combinations of them impact where you can work differently.

Depending on how alternative the rest of your look is... Half the time if you'll just wear something that largely covers your tattoos to AUDITION... no one will say anything about your unconvered tattoos once you're hired/past the first week.
Sometimes i have to cover sometimes they did not required me to cover them up. I am pretty tan so easy to cover them if i need too. BUT OP is very pale and hers are noticable and also she has a lot of tatoos.

ITA about expressing your true self outside the club. My true self doesn't dance nekkid for strange men or get strangers to buy me bottles of champagne. There is something to be said for holding on to your true authentic *ideals* but that doesn't apply to what you wear to work imo. If you notice a pattern where you make twice as much $$$ rocking a tropical barbie look than a corset, do the smart thing and save your favorite outfits for personal time, and let's all thank our lucky stars we don't have to wear a paper hat to work.
Also agree there is a difference b/t having tattoos and being heavily tattooed. Many strippers where I live have one or two. A tattoo on the hip or shoulder is one thing, but the OP has a very big piece covering her decollete area. I think it could pose a problem for making money. It might be best to find a club where the guys like that look instead of trying to swim against the tide.
    *no offense meant*

I used to do the goth "express myself" routine not that long ago. You are getting some excellent advice. If you are going to do the alternative look make the rest of you look like a stripper.

For me that meant getting a BA and a blonde wig, ditching the black lipstick and wearing brighter colors. Its just easier this way.

Yes u are right,I honestly love the scene hair, but personally i do not wear at the club. She is very alternative lookin girl, i have simple brunette hair however after work i just tease the hair, add some blue, pink extensions, very cute bow on side.... There u go very easy scene hair for real life, for work i curl my hair .

Thanks for posting this.. Tonight is my first night at a local club (I have danced only a hand full of times in my life). Eventually I want to start making weekend trips out to Myrtle Beach for some part time work. I only have one tattoo, but it covers my rib cage down to my hip.

I'm in Melbourne but worked briefly in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. I think Queensland is a unique case, as extensive tattooing seems mainstream there. I think the general public in QLD is desensitised to heavy ink. However there are a number of big clubs here in Melbourne who make girls cover up any tattoos more than a few cm in diameter, or simply don't hire girls with extensive tattoos.

As for getting hired but the earning potential dilemma, I definitely think it affects earning potential. When I started dancing, I had a short concave bob. While the guys who loved short hair would go out of their way to express it, my earnings definitely went up when I started wearing long extensions. I think the same applies to tattoos or non-mainstream piercings.

I worked with one girl (on the Gold Coast) who was very heavily inked, even on the sides of her face. However she did very well with all types of customers. I noticed that when I saw her on stage or at the bar, the tattoos weren't so noticeable, because she wore super long platinum extensions, lots of Sally Hansen, and white or neon pink outfits.

But that's neither here nor there.) Totally depends on the area you're in, the club and your individual look.

I usually have huge, teased up hair, heavy makeup and the most unique outfits I can find. Pretty soon, I'm investing in a collection of microdermal piercings. I'm much happier in a place where I'm free to express myself in any way I want to.

Again, these are just my experiences. Point I'm trying to make is there are plenty of nice clubs that will embrace your look.
OMG were we seperated at birth somehow?! LOL this is SOOO me to a T!!!! Rock it girly <3
