    Dizzy Splits

Ok my sister was a majorette in highschool she said it was a requirement to know how to split to join and that one of the other girls said i can show u in 10 mins. She said to jump down into squats continue bouncing and drop into a split. I have been trying this technique because stretching is doing little. I still cant comfortably fall into a split How should I go on to improve this? Exactly how do you stretch for long how many times and what besides stretching can I do...Im starting at a really popular urban club n need to get some tricks down

I just bought the Alethea Austin Pure Splits and Stretching for Pole. Basically stretch every day and don't do more than you can at a time.

There are already a ton of threads on this.

Check youtube. There are a ton of videos on how to achieve splits. And of course there are always DVD's out there too.

You really have to be consistent with stretching daily or AT LEAST 3/4 times a week. Never stretch farther than you can handle, because it can do more harm than good, and you'll have to wait for your muscles to heal before you can get back to the point you were. Eventually, you'll want to look into doing oversplits.

I was always able to do the splits easy with my left leg forward and I was determined to get the splits with the other one forward down, too. It looks cool on stage when you do a split and then switch in between them. So I just googled "split stretches' and did that 30 min for maybe 3 weeks and now it's super easy. Stretching is key, everybody can do it.

I don't believe in that thing 'just have someone push you down really hard once and then you can do it or do it when you're drunk'. Sounds dangerous to me!

Came to recommend these vids. She uses a variety of stretches and I really feel like my flexibility has been improved in multiple directions, not just the splits- there's more to beautiful polework than just one move.

Definitely not an overnight thing though, it takes a lot of dedication to work for something like that.
