I just started at a new club. The manager that ran me through orientation said my dreads might be a problem w/ the owner or GM. In all fairness, I actually thought it would probably be my thicker weight that would nbe the prob. No low & behold it would be my hair. There are other members on this site that can vouch for me having very nice, clean maintained dreads. In fact one of the bartenders that I know OTC said "No, your dreads are your thing -you shouldn't cut them." I really don't wanna cut them out -I looked forward to keeping them & watching them turn grey as I continue to get older. In fact, most of the time -many Native Americans don't cut their hair at all. But I understand this is something I guess I'm going to have to do. At least I guess I can hold on to them & have the ability to be able to have them sown back in. Whether I like it or not -here's to new beginnings, I guess....
This is what I look like w/ my dreads...

If I'm going to be forced to cut my hair so I can survive & eat, dammit -then at least I still try to look hot. I won't be happy -but I'll still be hot (plus I'll hoard my dreads to be sown back in for a different day) -that'll show 'em!! If I must go short then I was thinking that I would follow the i=indie queen, Shanynn Sossamon< 's example. This computer is acting weird now. So google her.
I'M SO SAD!!!!!

& as a side note, I'm kind of sad that a lot of people heard dreads and automatically went to the "dirty hippie" stereotype in their head. Def not the people who should be poster children for the style choice.. locs can be very neat, very maintained, etc, as is pictured)
