    Default Weight Worry

I weigh 137 lbs and I'm 5,9. I know it varies from club to club and city to city but do people think I'm likely to be too big? I live in Sheffield, England if anyone knows it. Would love a heads up x

You're definitely not overweight at that height. What's crucial is how the weight looks on you- regardless of weight number, you want to look toned.

There's a bunch of threads sticked about advice for newbies, lots of audition info in there. I recommend you read all of them if you haven't already.

This. Additionally, wear outfits that are flattering, rather than ones you think look sexy on the rack. Like, if you have a tummy, don't wear a bikini that showcases it. Play up your best features as much as possible.

I worked in sheffield once...cant remember the name of the club, not spearmint.maybe baby platinum.Anyway i am shorter and heavier than you.im sure you will be fine. Most clubs in UK(apart from London) dont seem too fussed if you are carrying a little extra weight.

I agree with what britchick85 said.... the UK girls tend to me a LOT curvier than ones that work in the US/ Australia etc. Don't worry about your weight for a UK audition- looking at your stats ....I'm sure you look great x

I will give you my 2 cents. I am 5'6" 145 lbs. But I am very muscular and lean. People are shocked when I tell them my stats. I look leaner then most girls half my weight. I also, have massive boobs. If you have large breasts you will also weigh a little more. Remember, muscle outweigh fat. So, as long as you are toned and lean, you should do well. Keep working out and cut out the carbs and you will be fine. I think for most dancers you want to keep your body fat percentage 23%-14%. Which is on the fitness to athletic side.

i have noticed this and loved it. and the women were all solid, just curvy. it was weird because in the us, once humans hit a certain weight, they seem to just develop into the michelin man.
i worked with a british dancers years ago and still remember being confused by her body but i loved it.
