    Default Banning

So I am on livejasmin right now, and I just found out that when you ban someone they are only blocked for 24 hours. Then the ban lifts and they can return, there is no such thing as permanently banning someone. If they are incredibly rude or obnoxious they can just show up tomorrow!

    Is it like this everywhere!?!

Side note, I also found out that on livejasmin guests can type in a new nickname... then that nickname shows up on the models member list. What a scam, this whole time I thought everyone on my member list were actually members who have already bought some credits. Nope!

I've just about had it with livejasmin and their overflow of guests. I do very well there, but I'm getting fed up with the bullshit. So what's it like everywhere else? Im curious about the whole banning thing.

On SM the ban lasts forever, or at least until you take them off your ban list.

Also you can set it so only members of the site can join your chat.

On AW you choose to ban for 24 hours or permament, however perm means 30 days then they are free to return. There is a list of banned members in your chat log which gives details of the nickname, ip number and how much longer they have on ban, so it's relatively easy to keep an eye out for re-offenders. I also keep a written list of guys I really don't want back, reason for banning and date when ban expires. You do have the option of freechat or paid chat only and you can also choose to block non registered guests from your freechat room.

Banny on MFC can be 6 hours or 60 days. The 60 day one takes way too much work to put into action that by the time you get to it , they may have already changed their name so you're too late.

A tip for you on LJ where I do not come anymore now.

A guy with a name and money, gets a white dot at his name after about 90 seconds, so that you can send him a private written invitation to pvt. All that get no dot after 2 minutes has no money and can be ignored

i work on livejasmin too even though i haven't been on for about 2 weeks and depending on if you haven't switched over to using livejasmin.com and lj.com you can change the color of the font of the guests to blend in with the background, it works for me, i literally don't see anything they say. And as far as them being able to type a new nickname in, they can but most guests don't even pay attention to that option up top and if you switch to being on lj.com and livejasmin.com at the same time (all you have to do is ask support to set up there and it actually gets you more pvts) and in the new performer window, even if a guest types their name in, it says "guest" beside it and will be in white font and all you have to do is ignore them. And the banning isn't a problem for me, i rarely ban people and if i do and they come back into my room then i just re-ban them.

Oh my gosh! What a great idea about the guests... changing the font to red. Brilliant! I recently got in trouble from live jasmin from banning members! They say it is not acceptable to ban members. And only in extreem cases. YIKES! I banned TomUSA today... and he went and bitched to support. That got me in trouble.
