Default Newbie, bruised & swollen feet!! Raw knees

    Hi
I'm bubbles, I just started stripping & worked 10 days straight. My feet are bruised on the top to the crease before my toes. They are also swollen & very painful. I'm pretty sure this is due to the pole. I can't work atm, shoes won't fit due to the swelling. My knees are also raw, scabes came off. I'm falling apart!! Please help!! Does anyone know a silver/clear shoe that won't kill my feet!!

    Hi bubbles.

If you just started stripping I have two issues with what you said.

1.) Why would you work ten days straight? This would be damn near impossible for a newbie considering how physically and emotionally draining dancing is.
2.) If you are brand new I find it hard to believe you can climb a pole, and the only way you'd get bruises on the tops of your feet (I've had these many times) is from using the top of your foot for leverage while climbing upward on the pole.

p.s. clear shoes hurt everyone and stripper shoes are meant for cosmetics, not comfort.
If you are willing to do for one year what other's won't, you can spend a lifetime doing what other's cant.

I agree 10 days was way to much. This club is short on girls atm. They are training me on the pole, hence the bruising. I'm very athletic but wow this is more exhausting than I imagined. The girls I work with have suggestions on certain shoes & using a blow dryer, but it didn't help. Both of my knees are raw, using neosporin & bandages.

    Suggestions?

    Take a break.

And arnica gel on the knees and feet.

Yes, you need a break, a few days at least.

Hell when I started I worked everyday for over two months before I could get a day off lol. If your working everyday it's also easy to get some down time while it's slow to just fool around on the pole. But that is just my experience.

Soak your feet in epsone salt (idk about the spelling), Put some anti scaring stuff on your knees and you'll be fine. Your shoes are probably broken in so the foot thing should't happen again and your knees will get tougher the longer you dance.

Thank you everyone, the gel & Epsom salts sound great! Do you know the name of this anti scarring product? Has anyone ever used inserts in their shoes for comfort??

Actually, they are meant for comfort! The high platforms put less pressure than regular heels of the same height do on on the balls of our feet, and the impact shock from the ground is better absorbed into the platform and sole lining, making it even easier on our feet.

By clear shoes I meant the clear plastic slip ons. The plastic hurts when you break it in. It really doesn't bother me anymore, but they aren't exactly slippers either.

Gotcha! That plastic stuff is a HUGE bitch. I always rock high socks when I'm breaking in new shoes with the plastic top or else the edges cut into my feet.
