It's always good to have straight jobs on your resume for when you decide to get out of dancing to make the transition easier. It'll also help to have some experience in a straight job as it's quite different from stripping, where you can generally make your own schedule, work as often/hard as you want, etc.
What exactly are you sick of with stripping? If you can pinpoint that, you can better find a job that'll help you get through your burn out. Like, do you have the crowds? Douchey customers? If so, waitressing probably isn't the right second job for you, since you'll encounter much of the same, but with less opportunity to walk away from it.
Now, I imagine you're not looking for another job for the money aspect, but keep in mind that another job will keep you from making money in the club, both by giving you shifts (other jobs are much less flexible than stripping is, so perhaps you'd miss out on lucrative shifts in the club) and making you more tired/burnt out. Perhaps a calm job, like at a library or in a thrift store, would be a good idea?

Waitressing is harder. Why not try bartending?
Do you have a degree in anything, idk if I was stripping full time I wouldn't get a job like waitressing I would get something I liked. I can guarantee you will hate it and go back to full time dancing.

Airline Stewardess?
Really get away from it all?

If you do want to try waitressing, it can be good money depending on where you go, but it is a really rough job. Many of my friends work in the service industry, granted the majority of them work on south beach and make crazy amounts of money...my friend is a bartender and pulls in about $1k a week in cash tips alone, plus her paycheck but she works at a high end hotel bar, and her exbf was a waiter and would make about $100-200 a shift at a locals casual restaurant.
Now, another friend of mine worked in a locals diner on the mainland (not the touristy expensive South Beach vibe) and she was making about $100 a shift. Compare that to working a desk job, or any job where youd be getting minimum wage, youd be pulling in about $1200 month, and yeah, being in the service industry isnt a half bad idea. I think its the next best thing money wise to being in the sex industry.
Anyway, the one tip I can give you, that everyone gave me when I was looking for my first service industry job is to never drop off your application. Just walk in, ask for an application, fill it out right there, and wait for a manager, who will interview you on the spot. If they do not interview you, or say they will take your application and call you, assume they threw your app in the garbage, they will not call you back. Only exception is, some places will only do interviews on certain days, just come back on that day with your application. Basically, you should never hand your app to anyone but the manager.
Front desk staff is notorious for saying there are no openings, either cause they just dont like you, or cause they feel threatened, or cause they have a friend they want to get a job in there, and the less people applying the better odds for their friend. Now, my friends all also told me that if they dont tell me right then on the spot that Im hired, then I may as well figure I didnt get the job. A place I applied to, where I did get the job at was corporate though, so they told me that I had to come back for another interview with the floor manager, and then I had a third interview with the general manager. Yes...3 interviews to get a restaurant job! lol And on top of that, went through 3 weeks of training. But I got it.
The money was okay, because I was a hostess I didnt get tips at all, but the servers there were making crazy money...sometimes up to $300 a shift. And the bartenders made even more...If I had stuck it out longer, they would have trained me for server, but I started escorting and making in 2 or 3 dates what I made in 2 weeks of working there was just too much to think about, so I quit and focused on escorting. Wish I went through the server training now, but whatever lol If you are sick of stripping, may as well try something different, but will still give you a chance to pull in decent money, and your hustling, upsell and people skills will all come in handy. Worst case scenario, you hate the service industry even more and decide you love stripping afterall![]()
Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink!
