I did it!!!
I FINALLY went into the club I was interested in working at. I was all ready to audition, but never had to. I just got asked if I had my stuff and was ready to start working. I started on a Sunday at a tiny club and it was super-slow. As the night went on it got to a point where there were NO customers at all and the other dancers started going home. Of course, later in the night custies started showing up and I ended up being the ONLY dancer there! I played up the baby stripper thing A LOT (seeing as I can't dance) and got tips from guys while not doing anything. I sat at the bar and a guy came over and tipped me. A guy across the bar sent some tips my way (and I never even made it over to him to thank him
). I talked to a custie and then got him to go to VIP where he spent the song rubbing my back. Being on stage was awesome! I was worried about my body and my scars, but everyone just kept saying how pretty I was (the 7-inch heels and blacklights work wonders)! Having all of the attention on me was EXHILARATING! I know I could have made more money if I had tried to hustle, but I honestly wasn't. I sat with customers a bit too long, didn't get to talk to every guy in the club. I also got drunk. I wasn't planning to drink on the job, and I didn't feel like I needed to drink. (I was completely sober first time I got on stage.) BUT, I gave into peer pressure from the floor manager/bouncer since we were dead and he just wanted to take shot after shot after shot.... I ended my night giving a not-so-kosher dance to said floor manager/bouncer, lol. He wanted me to get naked, but I stood my ground. I was having a lot of fun (he was hot and I haven't had sex in a month...would have done it for free, lol) and between that and the alcohol, I didn't keep track of the number of songs I danced for and got shorted a bit. I counted it as a learning experience though. I would have been upset if that experience would have been with some gross customer.
I couldn't have asked for a better first night. I am a little sad about going back because I know it will be different when there are actually other girls there and not every guy in the club is competing for MY attention. But I took home a decent amount of money considering how dead it was and know that with everything I've learned here, dancing can really help me in achieving my financial goals. So I go back tomorrow. Hopefully.

Re: I did it!!!
Good for you, and congrats!
Make sure you watch your boundaries. It's easy for a first night phenomenon to turn into your reputation, which then ends up with you slowly changing your personality to fit that reputation...make sure you start in a place similar to where you want to end up.

Re: I did it!!!
That floor manager/bouncer was trying to take advantage of your newness and naïveté by getting you drunk and asking for dances that are against the rules. Watch your actions and don't date/bang people you work with.

Re: I did it!!!
Yeah, I know, I know. I can usually hold my liquor, but I hadn't eaten anything 'cause I was so nervous. The only other person in the club by then was the bartender and even though I was drunk, I didn't feel like I crossed any of my personal boundaries or gave him anything to brag about, lol. I just don't know what a "legal" lapdance is. PLUS I ended up leaving a lot later than I planned and woke up late for my vanilla job the next morning. That CANNOT happen again. So, yeah, the first night phenomenon is gonna stay just that. Don't worry! I understood what was happening and I never felt outta control or violated. I'm good....

Re: I did it!!!
I think you handled the club being dead really well, especially being on stage and then getting the guy into VIP. As for dancing for the bouncer, it sounds like no-one was really around to see it anyway. I think at least *most* of us make mistakes like that at some point, better to get it out the way on your first night when no-ones around! Good job hun!
