Default Has anyone ever ordered cigarettes online?

There are lots of website offering cigarettes online for $20-30 cheaper than if you bought them from a convience store or grocery store. But it looks like they are shipping from other countries as the packaging is not in English. http://www.cigoutlet.net/cigarettes/camel.html

Was wondering if anyone has tried this to save money on buying cigarettes. I know quiting would ultimately save me the most money but not looking into trying to quit smoking onto all the other stresses going on right now.

Basically, these discount cigarette companies are (re)selling wholesale cigarettes manufactured in the EuroZone. Yes I tried similar companies while still living in New York.

    - there is a fairly good chance that US customs will 'seize' your cigarette shipment at the border, and demand that you pay them an additional $5 per pack ( or whatever tax rate applies in the state you reside in ) before they will release them.

    - if your cigarette shipment makes it through customs without being 'spotted' and arrives at your house, there is still some chance that the IRS / your state tax agency is watching cross-border credit card transactions which involve these sort of companies. By law, the purchaser is still liable for the payment of cigarette taxes even if cigarette taxes are not collected by the cigarette seller at the time of sale. One guy in Broolkyn, who had been buying discount cigarettes for friends and relatives using his credit card, got socked with a $5000+ NY State cigarette tax bill many months after the purchases had actually taken place and the cigarettes had been delivered.

I know someone else that bought cheaper cigarettes on native American reservations. For about 5 years went just fine until somehow someone found out maybe through selling..not exactly sure. Two-three years later they received a bill for about 5k in taxes. Be careful, smoking to me is not worth the $. I don't spend $ on anything that will not benefit me, work, or my health.

I just buy a carton each way when I go on holiday, and ask friends to pick me up some too.

^^^ actually, I am told that federal and state tax authorities are now requiring the 'distributors' of big name brand cigarettes to collect the cigarette taxes in advance before wholesale cigarettes can be delivered to Native American reservation stores. Since this would force the Native American cigarette sellers to raise retail prices almost as high as 'regular' tobacco retailers, the Native Americans have stopped purchasing and selling big name brand cigarettes. Instead, the Native Americans have purchased commercial cigarette rolling and packaging equipment ( the same as used by the big name tobacco companies ), have installed this new cigarette manufacturing equipment on 'sovereign' Native American territory, have purchased the same raw tobacco from the same growers as the big name tobacco companies, and are now offering Native American manufactured 'clone' cigarettes of many major brand names at VERY low prices.
