I heard this and I am sad. I've always liked the Beastie Boys and love all their albums, especially License To Ill and Paul's Boutique. I remember when Fight For Your Right became popular in high school. RIP I think I'll go listen to them now.

I'm so saddened! Their music is the shit.
Long live Beastie Boys!!
They were still putting out better hip hop than grand majority of the rappers out there. Fucking cancer.
"Well done. Here are the test results: You are a horrible person. I'm serious, that's what it says: 'A horrible person.' We weren't even testing for that."

Anything to get Whitney Houston tributes off the air!

I know, the tributes to that crackhead were disgusting. Since then there have been other notable deaths, such as Davy Jones, Dick Clark and Levon Helm (the Band)but all were overshadowed by her.
Everything I keep reading is referring to the Beastie Boys as a rap group but they were so much more than that. They were one of the first groups to merge hard rock with rap to create a fairly new sound (after of course RUN DMC). Some of their songs aren't even rap at all. Not to mention how terrific their videos are.

Such a visionary post-punk NYC artist. Such a good man esp. when he spoke out against girls being molested in the crowd at the more recent Woodstocks. And advocating for human and civil rights.
I met him once at a vegan dim sum spot in NYC's Chinatown. Lovely family.
He is missed.
