Default ISO: Affordable Real Silk Stockings

So, I got a few pairs as prezzies for a custy. I fell in love with them. Mmmmm they feel AWESOME!

The problem is I tried to find some online and damn they're expensive. Most of the stockings I found were $60-$100 a pair!!

I did find some that looked to be way to cheap to be real.

So I'm wondering does anyone know of a place to get real silk stockings at an affordable price?

If they're actual silk, you won't get them for cheap. Silk is expensive to produce as it's a natural fiber. Have you tried rayon? Rayon was the first synthetic fiber produced, to imitate silk in the 1920's, and it is not a oil based fiber like polyester, nylon, or acrylic. Rayon has a beautiful drape and hand, is very cheap, however it does not have the durability of silk, or the strength. This means unless you are dry cleaning your rayon, water will deteriorate it, and it won't hold up well in the wash. However, like I said, rayon is inexpensive.

Holy fuck I sound like a spokesperson for Rayon. I'm studying for a fabric and fiber class final right now LOL

I figured it finding some under $50 would be hard if not impossible.

Hope the class is going good, you do sound like you know your stuff.

I'll give rayon stockings a try, if I can find them cheap enough I can always toss them out guilt free.

It's just the silk one kinda gave me a leggasm!!!!

Hmm. Maybe check out what katie did or agent provocateur. I think they might have some stuff under 50, though I haven't checked back there in ages. Also, nordstrom rack is your friend. You can find so much wonderful shit at some outlets. (I found a 200 dollar cashmere scarf marked down to like 35 once at the saks outlet store!)
Hopefully you find something that works for you.
