Default What to do when there's no customers?

    Hi!

I'm starting tomorrow, and because I have no experience the manager thought I'd be best starting a few day shifts before I get into the busier weekend nights etc. I was just wondering, what do you do when there's no customers, or only a few but other girls have them occupied? I'm one of those girls that never knows what to do in those situations and either stands there looking awkward or hides away somewhere. I know probably starting on quieter nights that the money won't be as good, so I don't want to make it worse by hiding away. I also have one other thought: How do you time lapdances? You wouldn't have a watch or anything, and song lengths vary... I've always wondered! Thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi, I usually go back to the dressing room periodically in order not to look too idle. Of course, you shouldn't hang out back there but just keep yourself in motion so that you always look busy.

Yes song lengths vary but that's how you count. Djs usually cut them a bit short anyway. So you do one song. two songs etc

It's okay to just sit or stand around the bar for a little while. I've often had customers approach me to ask for dances while in that situation!

I did a crossword at the bar lol, had a vip type approach me too because I wasn't one of the hawks having a go at him as soon as he walked in. Was good for me cos I'm an introvert so chatting with the girls would just tire me out, but it kept my brain working so I was ready when guys did come in.

I would just stand/sit and scope the room, see how busy its getting, who's getting dances, who looks interested etc.

Buy a watch that looks like a bracelet. Read your Stripper Web crib sheet and some positive affirmations From the law of attraction thread (stickied). I have taken in books to read (with a book light). As someone above mentioned, quirky behaviour (ie. in the customers eyes anyway) can be a talking/connection point.

Hi, look at what other girls are doing and ask management what is allowed and what isn’t. Personally I would practise pole or stretch or fix my hair/makeup and then walk around. Do something with your time that benefits you. Good luck!

Honestly it depends. Some clubs have rules where you can sit when it's not busy, such as no sitting in the dressing room or the bar, or with non paying customers, etc. Since I was often in school while dancing I brought my homework to do in between working. I also brought my Gameboy and played that. When I started, I was busy learning tricks on the pole or talking to the dancers and getting advice (though not all dancers will do this and will consider you competition). Perhaps the coolest thing mentioned (in a previous thread)was someone bringing toy soldiers and playng some kind of game with them.

My club doesn't allow us to sit in the dressing room so we are pretty much stuck hanging out at the bar, playing pool, or practicing pole tricks.

If it got slow enough to where there were no customers at all I'd usually take advantage of that time and either eat or study. If I didn't have that to do then I played games on my phone
