Have you tried any glycolic acid? I don't have super oily skin, but I do have a lot of blackheads on my nose and this helped out a lot.

I have their moisturizer (well as of last week so this isnt the best review) and something about when I cam makes the oil on my face go into overdrive. Even without the lights and hefty makeup I use while camming Im still oily --- but Id say so far the moisturizer gets a thumbs up! It isnt a dramatic matte difference but Im not going through 5 blotter sheets every 30mins.

I hope to try the rest of the line soon (trying a DIY chemical peel first when I get the courage, then will try the rest of the line out) so good luck

I've never heard of Glycolic acid... Is it like a peel? Thanks a bunch i will look that up i've had a few mild peels and some microdermabrasion treatments but i didnt do enough of them to see results. My skin is really weird Oily all over really i mean i can manage it but it's definately oily, i used to have cystic acne along my jaw line and i got rid of that years ago but i've got some scarring from it now. MY acne isn't out of control but i can say i dont really like my skin. I get black heads on the sides of my face and i get random breakouts mostly near my chin or mouth if i do. I guess for the most part i hate the texture and scarring.

Yah i use a matifying gel from smashbox the "anti-shine" that i really like. I noticed a big difference the first day i used it then i felt like the results kinda faded. But yesterday i forgot to wear it and big difference alot more oily than with the "anti-shine". So it does work if not im the same way about 10 oil sheets especially while camming. Awesome yah i've read the reviews it seems everyone likes it! Worth a shot, i use Cosmedix now and after awhile it stopped helping my skin, at first it was awesome. I'll keep ya posted on how i like it : )

FG - Ive been following your posts about chemical peels and I think Ill take the DIY plunge. Ill probably do 20% salicylic acid to start though. Im interested in using the heftier stuff on other parts of my body but want to make sure I get a handle on it first.

Question: do you use a fan to apply it or any special post-application toner to restore pH?

The first few times with glycolic acid, I neutralized it with baking soda. Just pat it on. I did that with the TCA peel in the OMGMYFACEISBURNINGOFF!!!
I think aspirin is a straight salicylic acid, so maybe go get some cheap dollar store aspirin and crunch it up and use it as a facial scrub for awhile.
Otherwise, look at how to dilute acids and buy the strongest acid you can since your money will go further.

For example, I bought the 35% (or 30%? not sure), and would have bought the 70% had I known I could safely dilute it with water.
I have the TCA peel which I can dilute-- I use it now on moles and a couple scars but it'll be awhile before I try another TCA peel on a larger part
of my body because the downtime is extremely lame. I had no shame and went out with sunblock, but had to pass up work, and the peeling
took 50% longer than I thought it would.

I bought a fan brush for the tca peel, and maybe it was just the crappy fan brush that I got, but it worked against me. I'd suggest gauze. With
the less damaging acids, like glycolic, I just put it in the palm of my hand, and dip with my fingers from my other hand and quickly apply
and then wash my hands. I don't have any peeling, but I think I did at first because I was doing it too slow-- like spending 2 minutes applying
it when I just needed 30 seconds to apply it and avoid my eyes.

But-- like I said-- maybe it was my fan brush-- and since a lot of people write about using fan brushes, I say just find a recommended one
and try it out. If you're buying a concentrated acid and diluting it, you'll be a lot less worried about waste. Though, I've used my GA a bunch
and think I still have maybe 40% of the bottle left.

Got it : ) U said u had tried it! I wouldn't call my skin sensitive just problematic i should just try it out. i just cant have time off but reviews seem like i wouldn't need it. I cam so even if ive got a zit u cant see it. My skin looks pretty flawless online, i dont think peeling would b an issue.

I didn't have any downtime with the glycolic.
Maybe a little peeling in my nose/cheek crevice but people say not to apply there. I get zits there so I didn't care if it peeled or not.

So ive come to the Conclusion that i can stand my pinples here and there but i can't stand the texture of my skin anymore! Im going to order the peel tomorrow. Seems the texture has gotten worse since i started using this my forehead is rougher and i havent changed anything other than i start working out so maybe just the sweating is making my pores more clogged idk. but im going to try this peel and see how it works Thanks for the tip! Not thrilled about the Facewash, toner, or moisturizer i wouldn't waste my $60 again.

OK I finished my tube of this two months ago: it was 'ok' but not worth the price and I found when I forgot to put it on the difference wasnt too stark? I also tried the rest of the line and the toner was probably the most effective but ran out pretty quickly. Id give the line a C, but I am *super* oily. If you're only kind of oily or just your Tzone is, you'd probably get some good use out of it.

I have been doing DIY chemical peels (lactic acid) but they all give me an extra sheen which is probably good for the health of my skin since it is somewhat indestructible, but does jackshit for the oiliness. This product contains a beta hydroxy acid which would cause more exfoliation and that sheen after a few hours of use, I think it is has kaolin clay in it but not enough to offset it...

One thing that has helped is Ive been doing clay masks to suck out the oil (super cheap to buy from wholesalers or you can buy the Aztec Healing Clay too) and also if I keep using translucent setting powder... probably not best to do if youre acne sensitive though.

Roast I'm in esthetics school right now you could be over drying your skin causing your sebaceous glands to go into over drive causing more oil. A lot of people with oily skin will over dry their skin like using something like bar soap or rubbing alcohol which will give you a squeaky clean feeling at first but will cause more oil later.

I know it sounds crazy but try a light natural oil or a product for sensitive skin(instead of for oily skin) at first you will have an adjustment period where you will feel oilyer but after a week or so your skin will naturally adjust to a normal oil production. Hopefully this makes sense.

And chemicals peels I recommend going to a pro if you don't know what you are doing (I'm not saying you guys don't) just so you don't scar or damage your skin. And you might not be using the right products.

Thanks for the advice - I think Ive been overwashing it definitely, and the zero oil line contains alcohol denat stuff in it so it probably aggravated it.

I recently switched to the oil cleansing method which has been surprisingly helpful but I think with that Im not using the lightest oil possible (Ive been told to try grapeseed with the castor oil, instead of EVOO + castor oil, but Ive been dragging my feet) so Ill look into them. It is tough to retrain yourself to not overcleanse but thanks for the reminder since... I just washed my face D:. Youre right, I need to read the labels of products I buy more often for harsh detergents thatll aggravate it, thanks!
