Default Potential future dancer here that needs some body feedback~

    Hi everyone,

I'm super interested in auditioning at a club in my city but before I buy audition clothes and shoes I'd like some body feedback. I'm quite critical of myself so sometimes I really think I could do it and other times I'm not so sure. I definitely think I have a very "girl next door" look, which matches my personality so I think I could make it work.

I used to go to raves, but now I just hula hoop and spin a bit of poi, besides being a biology major at my university.

Any suggestions on what sort of outfits might fit me are appreciated~
    I'm 5'3", 108 lbs, and my measurements are 36C-26-35. =]

    Full body: x
    Smile: x

What do you guys think? Should I give it a try?

You look fine. Get your self an outfit or two and a good pair of shoes and go for it.

Cute smile, nice butt. I think push up bras and halters would look good on you. I had breasts similar to yours before I got my BA and I wore a lot of halters. Halters can do wonders for your tits as well as push up and shelf bras.

If it makes you feel better and boosts your confidence, hit the gym. There is always room for improvement for everyone.

I do go for the halter tops. They make my boobs look better, for sure. Thanks!

I'm currently doing sit-ups regularly at home so I can try to tone my midsection.

You guys are so helpful, thank you~

It always helps when you know you look your best because then you FEEL your best. There are a couple of clubs that I want to try out at in my town (Philly) but right now my pinky toe isn't skinny enough to get in there. I don't plan on going in until I've dropped what I want to and toned up.

I gained weight after my BA and it's been an uphill battle but fitting back in my size 5's again makes it all worthwhile.

Try getting a gym membership or incorporating more than situps into your daily workout regimen, it helps. Good luck!

It looks like you have a great body! I would work on your hairsyle and make-up though, even if you want to do girl-next door look, you can still emphasize your most feminine features without wearing the typical stripper in-your-face make-up. Just some bronzer and highlighter to make your cheekbones pop, a subtle brown smokey eye, lipgloss or a natural looking lipstick and a pair of false lashes for example. I danced for a year before I tried false lashes and I LOVE them now, no amount of expensive mascara can compare.

Aw, thank you Odette. I actually only wear concealer and eyeliner in my life so I didn't have any makeup. I went out yesterday and got a brown eyeshadow palette and some peachy blush which I'm hoping will work.

I'm actually not sure what to do with my hair though. My hair is wavy and SUPER thick so I get the poofy thing if I let it down for too long. Any suggestions on products to tame it into nice waves?

I am curious about false lashes so I may try those too. =] Are they difficult to put on/get used to?

You should post pictures of your makeup once youve done it and for your hair...straighten it. and if you want some nice waves spray a little water in it and scrunch it with some serum and BAM!

I used to straighten my hair daily and I did like the manageability of straight hair. I have since given my flat iron away and I'd rather play up my curls/waves, but I've been debating on just getting another flat iron because I know I can do that and it works.

I'll definitely post pictures. I got my dancer bottoms in the mail today so I'm on my way.

Sure, this isn't a great picture of me or my hair's frizziness, but you can get the gist of it. Right after I let it down from a bun or something it looks great, but the longer it's down the frizzier it gets. I'd like something that will help it keep its definition for longer.

Blah. I worked on my eyebrows a little after taking this. Thanks for reminding me~

Excuse the tired after-school/work face. =]

I have no idea why but I feel like you would look really good with blunt straight accross bangs and a super-straight style. But with the frizz that might be difficult to manage. I have naturally really curly hair that starts to curl back by itself after a few hours anyways so I can't do the straight look either. What I do is straighten first to make everything smoooth and then I curl my bottom layers so as my hair starts to curl naturally throughout the shift I just look like I styled my hair with loose curls. Maybe you ould try rollers? My hair dressing friend is trying to get me to switch to them since they are WAY better for your hair than heat-styling. Not to mention straightening and then curling hair takes fucking forever.

With false lashes you just have to be careful with not getting the glue in your eye...it burns, Other than that, pretty easy to get used to, dunno if you ever wear contact lenses but I'd say it's kind of like getting used to putting them in as you're fiddling with stuff near your eye which freaks some people out.

i second what gingerstripper said... eyebrows they're a like a frame for your beautiful eyes, make sure they're neat and tidy.

your hair is so pretty and you're adorable!

as for makeup.. less is more, especially at first. you can learn basic makeup techniques from youtube tutorials, or if any of your friends wear makeup that looks like something you would like, ask them to show you how they did it. also, you can go into sephora and they'll show you how to do all sorts of stuff for free!

It might be hard to do the girl next door angle with tattoos and piercings, though you def have the face for it. Wax those eyebrows and try a cute hairdo. The gingerish thing is hot BTW. Hmmm, maybe try a lip plumper and either a pale coral (looks good on everyone) or red lipstick (get a consultation to find one that works w your skintone)

You guys are soo helpful! I really appreciate it!

Gingerstripper, I think the mousse idea is a good one, but I've also considered experimenting with hair rollers like Odette said. =] And Odette, I am thinking about getting bangs again but I'm not sold yet. My boyfriend doesn't want me to but I feel like it makes my face look better.

I have cleaned up my eyebrows. They aren't dramatically shaped but they're much cuter now, IMHO. =]

Sunny, getting makeup advice from Sephora is a great idea. I may do that soon. Maybe Friday after class. None of my friends are big into makeup so I'm sort of on my own there.

spf, I live in Portland so tattoos are much easier to work with. It's the non-tattooed girls who are a minority.
And I wish you guys were around to give me an awesome stripper makeover, haha. =]

It's sometimes the little things that make you look a million times more groomed...

Nails; they need to look smart. If you don't want to go for the commitment of acrylics, get stick ons. Cheap and easy to remove. French is 'strippery' but as long as they're long and a nice shape any colour goes. Elegant hands are the way forward!

Eyebrows. Go get them threaded at a nice salon. Eyebrows make a face... Personally, for strippers, I don't think 'tidy' cuts it. Try to find Indian lady to do them. Personally, I find they are the best at perfecting a shape for your face. You often don't have to pay huge amounts for threading; and you can tell them you want to keep some thickness. Amazing eyebrows makes you look doll like. Think of bollywood stars; their eyebrows are exquisite.

Make up: To dance, at least in the UK, if you turned up without full make up you'll get laughed out of the door. Go to a MAC counter and say you want to look made up... If you like the alternative look, tell them! They know what they're doing. But under club lights, without foundation and 'real' eyeshadow, you'll be washed out. You can still look girl next door with make up. Fake eyelashes applied well (practice practice practice) give any look 'oomph'.

Big hair works in a strip club. Make sure it's always clean, apply volumising mousse and blowdry with a round brush. Pick up some cheap flat irons and some protectant spray, and that will take care of the frizz. Seal with hairspray.

Good luck, and have fun. Sometimes it's fun to dress up and have a makeover.

I worked on my eyebrows a bit and tried some makeup, but unfortunately my phone camera is shit and the picture is terrible quality. I may try some darker eyeshadow.

I love the false lashes idea, though. I think they look adorable and would compliment my big eyes, for sure.
