    Default Binge eating after work

So every time I work I eat a very healthy well balanced breakfast, then lunch at work, but when I get home Im always starving and binge eat. I feel like Im trying to consume all the calories I have burned at work in one sitting... I have brought snacks to to work to try to help but I dont really have an appetite when I work and I get really busy and forget to eat. Im super healthy most of the time and very fit. Anyone else have this problem? How bad is this for my body?

Idk how bad it is, but I do the same thing. I don't even make it home! I get some nasty drive thru crap on my way home. I know it is HORRIBLE for my skin at least. That is just the damage I can see. It scares me to think what it is doing inside :/

    Yes me too.
The worst thing for me is there's a McDonalds just 5 minutes walk from my club.
Either that or pies just another 5 minute walk the other side.

I do this as well. I know it is not good eating before you sleep. I was told your body doesnt digest food as fast when you sleep, which causes heartburn and reflux, which i tend to get

I do this after work if it has been a particularly tiring night.
If it was a slow weekday and I had time to snack at work then I can avoid it...
Weekends/busy weekdays are another story. I go straight to Waffle House right by the club and pig out.

Im usually starving when I get off of work (I don't like to eat when I'm working) but I figure I skip a meal = back in shape faster. I just go to bed and eat when I wake up. What is cool is that a lot of times when I wake up I won't be hungry any more so I don't even eat then.

I get home starving most nights/mornings. I tend to pour a drink, have a cigarette, then deliberate if/what to eat. If I do eat, it's popadums and salsa or some home-made soup that I always have sitting in the 'fridge.

You can binge, but just on the right stuff. I've been known to sit down and eat and entire 16oz carton of strawberries or blueberries in one sitting. But who gives a rat's ass? It's like 150 calories. Make homemade yoghurt dip, I swear by plain greek yoghurt mixed with lemon juice, salt, pepper, fresh garlic and oregano. I dip carrot and celery sticks into it. I usually make 2oz at a time and you'd be surprised how far it goes especially when you thin it out with the lemon. I also agree with BOTM's frozen yoghurt suggestion... I just end up putting the cups in my freezer, greek is better than regular. Gyoza are another low cal solution, I steam mine. 8 of them only has 200 calories, and they have protein in them!

The other thing to do is before you eat, drink a bunch of water. A lot of times your hunger pangs are actually caused by dehydration- they feel pretty similar. Especially after a long night of dancing... plus drinking more water can't hurt.

My personal favorite is IHOP! I think it's good to have healthy bars like Larabar or a Powerbar of some kind to give you a meal's worth of calories/nutrition without the fat. As long as what you pig out on is within the amount of calories you need and nothing more, you're ok. Athletes and dancers need to eat enough for muscle repair within 2 hours of exertion. Otherwise you get some pretty wicked soreness.

I do this, because I read the body easily confuses hunger and thirst. I drink an 8oz glass of water then wait 15 mins. If I'm still hungry, then I eat.

you're tired after work and logic says food will give you energy. you're just sleepy.
make tea, hop in the tub, and see if you're still hungry or if you find you're ready to fall asleep right after.

I usually try to just go to bed without eating anything, I'm so exhausted after work that it doesn't take long to fall asleep and forget about food. But if I absolutely have to eat something, I'll either scramble an egg or make a small protein shake with one scoop protein powder and 6-8 oz unsweetened coconut milk. All protein, minimal carbs

I eat as much as I can anywhere I can get food. Fast, cheap, I'm stuffing my face in the car before I even get home. Work makes me so hungry and I feel so drained. I deserve to eat anything and everything after busting my ass. Plus I've lost ten pounds recently for no apparent reason. Time to beef up for swimsuit season!

I binge eat at night too. I just avoid fast food and I try to eat healthy foods. Something green, something that grew on a tree or a vine, some Greek yogurt and something with some protein. I also take my vitamins, biotin...

If you get crazy hungry at night (like I do) and you are worried about gaining weight try psyllium husk, you can make it like oatmeal or do like I do and mix it with cold water and drink it before it has time to expand. Avoid psyllium powder, go for the husks as they are less likely to provide your body with as much calories.

I go through a lot of peanut butter. But I avoid meat that way.

I have discovered chia seeds! I put them in my water and let it sit for 15 minutes and then drink that Super quick and easy to take to work.
