What kind of club did you get hired on at? I don't mean to be a buzz-kill (and please don't think I'm being mean, because I'm always supportive of new girls) but you probably made good money cause you're new. I made awesome money my first couple of weeks, then it dried up when the "new" wore off and I hadn't learned how to hustle yet.

I was in similar shape when I first started dancing, but you (from what I can tell) look better than I did. Dancing will help you lose some weight at first, simply because you're getting extra exercise, but just like the "new" that will pretty quickly wear off too. To make good money and/or get on at a better club, you're definitely gonna have to learn the hustle and most likely lose a few more pounds.
Exotic dancing is like any other job.
If you work in an office, you wear dress shoes and a suit.
If you work in a restaraunt, you wear skid resistant shoes and a uniform.
If you work in a strip club, you wear 7" stilettos and lycra g-strings.

Oh lord, I was a major fat ass when I started dancing and I still am a fat ass. I would probably never get hired at upscale clubs, but when you make money at other places, then why stress out? Congratulations on getting the job though and good luck!

It depends on where you're at. Some places love curves. Some places consider you morbidly obese if you are over a size 4.

At 5'11" it's easier to pull off the curvy look. Like I always say, just flatten out the tummy and you'll probably be fine. It's very regional though, just like tempest says.

That being said, you appear to carry your weight well (it's hard to tell at that angle) and it looks like you have a cute face (no double chin) so you shouldn't have to lose more than 15-20 lbs before you can get hired at a nice club and make decent money. Maybe you can start at a crappy club that has a low house fee so you can exercise at work and lose weight faster.
(I'm totally thread jacking here)^ Maybe I should move back to SF and work. It seems in LA, I get told I'm "too thin" for people to get dances w/me and I'm super toned:-( The OP's body would make more than me down here in So Cali.

im curious about dancing and i think you look awesome!!! ive seen alot of girls with the same body type in the clubs ive been a customer at in the 5 boros of NY and such. i posted a similar question to this in the club section because i have a very similar body shape and nervous about what the response would be. i think in NY theyre a lil more opened to hiring thicker girls but def not at the upscale clubs!

This is coming from my own experiences: being fit and losing as much weight as you can the right way never hurt anyone.
