Default I talk to everyone and work the room and i make less money???

So i'm still working on my hustling skills...and it could be because my club has hit a slow patch recently. I'll try to not sit with a guy too long especially if he's not buying. I had a few guys tonight who were thinking about getting dances and couldn't make up their mind, so i left to work the room. This happened to me all night. That and a lot of rejection. I just hate sitting with a guy forever when there could be money sitting across the room waiting to be spent on me. Obviously wasn't the case tonight. How do you hustle and keep moving, but not seem like you're just out for money. I know there's gotta be a more tactful way to go about it. I could've lost potential customers due to my greediness.... and ended up making shit anyway.

ive noticed that when i go from table to table, i make less. but when i find someone i KNOW i can manipulate for a few hundred bucks, one or two guys a night, i make waay more........... taking your time, looking for qualified men- 2 men x 500 a piece= $1000 OR $1000/20= 50 dances.

sometimes it is worth the wait. but not when its obvious red flags. ive noticed that just because someone says no or "not sure yet" does not mean you should walk away. it means you have to do some more convincing...especially if there are clues like, him buying you drinks or whatever. just like buying a house or a car, you show poker face at first because its a lot of money youre about to spend.

i am just now realizing this and it works. when you want someone to drop big bucks on you, it takes some time and manipulating to get someone to spend that kind of money.

also, be patient, always be positive, always in good mood- very important to stay in good mood, and always appear confident. it takes some practice.

    ^^^^

Just wanted to add that guys know that you are there to make money so don't feel bad about it because it's your bread and butter and at the end of the day that is why you are there.

Also like Jo said be patient and positive because guys have a sixth sense if you are not in the mood and they don't want to spend time with a gal that is down or depressed... They are there to have fun and be entertained so give off that happy/chatty/flirty vibe.

Finally, your hustle skills will come just practice and stay positive and motivated!

Yeah, sometimes working the room is not your best strategy. You'll figure out how to judge. Some of the guys are slow burners but they have money! Usually it's the guys that seem more interested in your personality (well, that's how it usually goes for me, anyways!).

I really like Jo's advice. This seems to work for me the best. If I work the room too much, I make less money it seems. I always do well sitting with one person, getting a feel of who they are, making the connection slightly personal, then BAM- Ive sold him a couple VIPs! It's much more worth it to me sticking with one person for a longer amount of time then bouncing around. Of course this isnt the case for everyone.. I have a pretty good intuition about people, so the vibe of the person matters a lot too.

Yeah... well last night i tried to do this. A guy seemed very interested and wanted to sit with me on the couch and buy me a drink. After talking for about a half an hour I mentioned dances and he said, oh yeah i'd love to get "A dance." I started fuming inside. I literally spent a half an hour sitting with this guy who said i could get whatever i wanted to drink. I mentioned the VIP... He said "I went in there last time, and my checking account wasn't too happy about that." I think my problem is i don't pay attention to the red flags that this guy is a cheap ass. He was asking the waitress if he left a stack of $5 in ones somewhere. And he was like... it's not a big deal, but i just want to know if i left it somewhere. He kind of kept trying to reassure me that he was a baller. Apparently not. I have a problem picking out the guys who have money by just looking at them because a lot of times the ones that do are those who I would least expect. I do know that the ones who are the most generous tend to not throw their money around obviously or talk about how much money they have. But when you're trying to size people up before you walk up to them and introduce yourself, it's really hard to tell by just looking at them... IMO. Which is why i end up going from person to person. Anyone else have this issue?

well first off, you should not spend that much time chatting without mentioning dances. when i chat with people, its more of a "can you afford me" interview. no, i dont ask in that direct way, i find out what they are there for, what kind of hobbies they have- for example if the guy says he loves to go boating or golf, sounds like a great potential customer, i try to be indirect because being direct feels kinda rude to me. that is the only conversation you should be having with a customer intially IMO and you can figure him within minutes. yeah youre right, theres no way to find them out just by looking thats why you do a mini interview.
